Crabman is the latest video to be lifted from Harv Le Toad’s debut album, Chicks & Tikka Naans. The track is produced by label-mate, Mr Slipz, with guest appearances from SMB’s Dirty Dike and Sammy B-Side.
Next month Bristol once again plays host to one of High Focus Record’s legendary parties. In the past the city has given a stage to their summer roadblocks and winter parties, but this time they will be one of two cities taking part in the label’s 8th birthday celebrations. Stepping away from their usual haunt of Lakota for this one, HF are headed to SWX in the centre of town. Verb T and Pitch 92 released their new album last week and to celebrate the drop, they also gifted us this new single, Lie Low. A couple of weeks ago the High Focus squad rolled into Bristol en masse, for what looked set to be a day of good vibes, good people and good BBQ. Taking over the legendary Lakota club for a seven hour rampage, the bill boasted a weighty line-up including Dabbla, Ocean Wisdom, Fliptrix and Dirty Dike.
Split Prophets have been a recognised name in UK hip hop since they burst out of Bristol with their Scribbled Thoughts EP. That was back in 2011 and after a slew of solo releases and a couple of posse cuts, this year sees the release of their first crew album, Delta Bravo Kilo. High Focus released the latest video from BVA yesterday, taken from his mega dope Be Very Aware LP. Featuring head honcho Fliptrix and the always entertaining Cracker Jon, as well as Sammy B-Side doing what he does best, this is another solid track from Mr Davey.
