The Four Owls ft. Smellington Piff: Sound The Alarm

As you are no doubt aware, we are moving ever closer to the arrival of the new album from The Four Owls and yesterday, High Focus leaked a bit more info about the project. Seemingly raising the bar across every level, the new album will include another heady line-up of features, including a fresh contribution from DJ Premier, as well as vocal support from Kool G Rap, Roc Marciano, Masta Killa, R.A. The Rugged Man and Smellington Piff. And speaking of Mr Piff, today we have been treated to the latest single from the album, Sound The Alarm, which features the man himself. The video was made by This & That Media. Nocturnal Instinct is due for release on 17 April.

Joey Paro x Illinformed: Victory Gin EP (Stream)

New music from the Split Prophets camp, as Joey Paro releases his latest EP. For Victory Gin, Paro has teamed up with the ever-prolific Illinformed, with the pair cooking up some of those healthy head nod flavours.

Competition: High Focus Summer Block Party 2019

As has now become tradition, this month sees the return of the annual High Focus Summer Block Party at, Lakota, the legendary Bristol venue. The label have made big waves in the city over the last few years, thanks to a string of huge parties and this year looks set to continue in similar fashion.

Planky ft. Chester P, Leaf Dog, Micall Parknsun & Smellington Piff: Word

Strong debut from Planky, as he moves into the hip hop world with a forthcoming EP. Word is the first single from the project and features no less than four notable UK MCs, with Chester P, Leaf Dog, Micall Parknsun and Smellington Piff all jumping in the booth. Jack Jetson & Illinformed: Go Get It + Album Stream

Illinformed stays as prolific as ever in 2019, with a slew of projects on the horizon and a few already dropping, like this new collaboration with Jack Jetson. The album, Strange Cinema, was released in full last week and Go Get It is the latest track to be given the video treatment. As well as Illinformed’s input, there are also features from Smellington Piff and Sean Peng, which you can hear below along with the rest of the album. Brothers of the Stone: Return to Stoney Island (Stream)

Big things from Brothers of the Stone as they return with their new album, Return to Stoney Island. It’s been three years since Leaf Dog, BVA and Illinformed released their self-titled debut album and during the hiatus the trio have been busy with various solo projects, and other crew affiliated releases. They have also found time to connect with some of rap’s finest, as Return to Stoney Island sees the Brothers being joined by Inspectah Deck, MOP and Young Zee, as well as recent rising voice, Rome Streetz. UK features come from regular sparring partners, Eric the Red and Smellington Piff. The album is available to stream below, plus there are CD and vinyl options over on the RLD store.

Recognize Ali: I Self Lord And Master (Stream)

One of the more prolific artists of the moment returns with his fourth release of 2018. I Self Lord And Master is another solid project from Recognize Ali, with support from the likes of Shabaam Sahdeeq, El Ay and Verbal Kent. Production comes from a whole range of names, including Jakk Wonders, Brutal Caesar and Smellington Piff. You can stream the album below, with downloads available via Greenfield Music.

Res One & Illinformed: A Dogs Dreams (Stream)

Happy to see the arrival of the debut album from Green Brick Records, as Res One and Illinformed drop the long-awaited A Dogs Dreams. Featuring 11 tracks from the UK stalwarts, plus a whole host of guest spots from the likes of Inja, Verb T, Smellington Piff and Leaf Dog, as well as Res’s fellow Split Prophets, the album is a strong start for the fledgling label. High Focus Block Party: Competition

Next month Bristol welcomes back High Focus Records for their infamous Summer Block Party. Held in the courtyard of legendary venue, Lakota, for the past few years the event has proven to be a huge success and judging by the summer we are currently experiencing, we could see it reach it new heights this time round.
