The latest album from Verbz and Mr Slipz was finally given life last week, and to coincide with the release the duo decided to bless us with another video from the project as well. Decline of Self is just one of the more thought provoking tracks on the album, strengthened by a couple of tight features from Confucius MC and Coops. The video was made by Honey JD. Radio Waves is out now via High Focus.
More heat from Coops as he returns with his latest single, Bring The Fire. Once again, it’s Talos on the beat, resulting in the usual blend of jazzy brilliance and solid rhymes. The video was made by Craig Capone. Bring The Fire is also available to stream and download at the usual places.
New single here from Coops, as he reunites with Talos for Laws Of Nature. It’s rare those two put a foot wrong when they work together and Laws Of Nature is no exception, ably backed up with another tight video from Craig Capone, whose kaleidoscopic visual is reminiscent of some earlier classics. The single is also available to stream on all the usual platforms.
Next month the Concorde 2 in Brighton plays host to a number of UK rap luminaries, as they gather in the Southern city in support of a very good cause. For the past few years the Bimiri Foundation have been trying to secure enough funding to build a water pipeline for the Nepalese village of Bimiri. It should go without saying that everyone in the world has the right to clean water access, but as we all know this is very from the reality of the hardships a lot of people have to face every day. Brand new video from Coops for another gem taken from last year’s In The Flesh LP. Crowded is produced by his main man, Talos, and the video was shot on location in Jamaica by Craig Capone.
Another blinding debut release right here, as Manchester-based producer, Pitch 92, drops his highly anticipated 3rd Culture album. It’s a debut for a producer who has long been a part of the UK scene, making a name for himself off the back of a string of solid collaborations alongside a number of artists including Verb T and more recently, DRS. He released his Lost in Space EP on High Focus last year to critical acclaim, but now he takes things up to new heights with this full-length project. Coops is back at it with another track lifted from last year’s Life In The Flesh LP. Rude Bwoi is produced by Talos and the video was made by Craig Capone. The album is available to buy now from the High Focus store.
Today High Focus unveiled a brand new album, from one of my favourite breakthrough producers of the year. Talos first came to my attention thanks to his jazz-heavy production for Coops, before releasing a stunning EP earlier this year, which featured Jerome Thomas and Nubya Garcia among others.
Now he has returned with a full length project, comprised of 16 instrumentals which provide a clear window into the strength of his production. There is also a new video to accompany the release, which you can watch above. The album, Dissonance, is available to stream below, as well as on all the other usual platforms.
