Straight up bars from two accomplished MCs here, as Joe Burn and Res One connect on Flow Cold. The grimy, bouncy production comes courtesy of Joe and is served up as a tonic for the current cabin fever. It works a treat. Downloads are also available.
Fresh out today, comes the debut LP from Joe Publik. Following on the back of a couple of strong singles, Stubborn Vectis is a healthy blend of precision lyricism and often jazzy production from an artist who has been feverishly honing his talents over the last few years to great effect. While the main star of the album is Joe on production and mic duties, he is joined by a strong supporting cast, including Scorzayzee, Res One, Chillman, G00SE, Coosie, Awfer, Lazy Habits and Clippa Sound. The LP can be heard in full below, with various physical and digital options available via Played Out Records. Continue reading “Joe Publik: Stubborn Vectis (Stream)”
Double-header from Joe Publik, as I play catch up with the Isle of Wight MC’s recent releases. First up is Head Nod Hip Hop, which dropped a couple of weeks ago and sees Joe teaming up with two of the Verbal Highz gang, Chillman and G00SE, to great effect. The video comes courtesy of Sektion Red. And yesterday we were treated to Joe’s latest video, which has some more excellent features, in the form of Split Prophets OG, Res One and Out Da Ville legend, Scorzayzee. The video for Military Minded was made by Double or Nothing. Both tracks are self-produced and the cuts were supplied by Willz of Steel. They are taken from Joe’s debut solo LP, Stubborn Vectis.
Another one from Joey Paro and Illinformed’s recent Victory Gin EP, as Paro enlists the help of his fellow Split Prophets brothers, Res One and Datkid on Mobin’. The video was made by the dons over at UKHH.com. Victory Gin is available now via Bandcamp.
New music from the Split Prophets camp, as Joey Paro releases his latest EP. For Victory Gin, Paro has teamed up with the ever-prolific Illinformed, with the pair cooking up some of those healthy head nod flavours.
A fresh locally sourced gem right here, as Split Prophets continue to celebrate their recent EP release. Mustard is produced by Badhabitz and features verses from Res One, Paro, Bil Next and Flying Monk. The video was shot by Chris Lucas. The Forecast EP is out now and there are a few tracks available to stream below. Continue reading “Split Prophets: Mustard”
Check out the first video from Sadomas’s latest album, Αγγελοσκονη. The Greek MC drafts in the ample assistance of Res One and Datkid for the appropriately titled, Bris to Salonika, with production handled by Primal. The video was made in Bristol by Sektion Red.
Pleased to finally be able to share the debut solo LP from Lazy Eyez. The South West MC has been steadily building his rep thanks in part to his work as one half of Pupils of the Clock and now has reached a position where he feels ready to strike out with this solo effort. The title of Coastline To Cityscape is a reference to Lazy’s relocation from his hometown of Truro up to Bristol. It was in Bristol that he met Res One and Badhabitz of Split Prophets fame, before eventually becoming their first signing on Green Brick Records. Entertaining video from Res One and Illinformed, as they hit us with another gem from their recent album, A Dogs Dreams. No. Your Business features a few cameos and a lot of bobble heads, thanks to another great visual from This & That Media. A Dogs Dreams is out now on Green Brick Records.
For The Love is the latest track to be lifted from the new album from Res One and Illinformed. The Bristol duo released A Dogs Dreams last week, the debut drop for Green Brick Records. Head to their store now to cop one of the last few vinyl copies, or check Bandcamp for your digital needs. The video was my Bucket Hat Jack.
