A very welcome return from Chester P, as he releases his latest album along with an accompanying video. Fuck Ya Future, like the rest of the album, is self-produced and features some familiar themes from the Task Force veteran, as he gives us some insight into his neighbourhood and his views on the current state of society. The video was made by Dfacer and is lifted from The Nameless Project, which you can stream in full below. Read the rest of this entry »

Strong debut from Planky, as he moves into the hip hop world with a forthcoming EP. Word is the first single from the project and features no less than four notable UK MCs, with Chester P, Leaf Dog, Micall Parknsun and Smellington Piff all jumping in the booth. You can stream the track below and downloads are available from AFT Raps. Read the rest of this entry »

Surprise new video from Chester P, as he releases fresh visuals for one of the gems from his recent EP. Hands Up is the closing track on The Post Apocalyptic Story Teller and it takes aim at those MCs who feel the need to be lenient with the truth about their supposed gangster lifestyles. The track is produced by Chester and Django Mankub.

Over a year ago we were treated to a new video from UK rap veteran, Chester P, with the promise of a new project to follow. Now I am pleased to be able to say that the Task Force MC and producer has fulfilled that promise and today has delivered The Post Apocalyptic Story Teller. Produced entirely by Chester and Django Mankub, the EP is a fine snapshot of the mindset and inner visions of one of the more complex lyricists this isle has ever birthed. There are no features credited on Bandcamp, but I know for a fact that DRS makes an appearance on Melancholic Flowers – the video of which you can see below. You can also stream the EP below, with downloads available via Real Talk Records. Read the rest of this entry »

Another sugary high from the recent Laminated Cakes album, as Ed Scissor, Jam Baxter and GhostTown deliver a fresh video for Cake Gang. The track also features the ample talents of Chester P and Dirty Dike. The video was shot by This & That Media. Laminated Cakes is available to buy now over at the High Focus store.

The tracklist for Ocean Wisdom’s new LP was released this week and it contained a couple of surprises. Alongside appearances from UK heavyweights such as Rodney P, Roots Manuva, Chester P and Jehst, the High Focus MC has also bagged features from Dizzee Rascal and Method Man. Yesterday saw the release of the next video from the album, this time for the track Don, which is produced by Pete Cannon. Pre-orders for Wizville are available now over at the High Focus store.

A little menacing number from the Brothers McBane, which appeared out of the blue yesterday and sees Chester taking just two minutes to remind us why he is one of the nicest lyricists to come out of this country. Both him and Farma seem to have acquired a new lease of life recently, with the promise of a ton of new music scheduled for next year, both individually and as Task Force. Fuck Them! can be stream below. Read the rest of this entry »

There aren’t many crews as respected and as influential as Task Force; the brothers paved the way for a lot of the artists who are making music in this country today. When they announced their reunion tour, the scene reacted with understandable glee and since then we have been told that there is new music on the way as well. Read the rest of this entry »

I had to write ‘everyone’ cos I literally cannot fit all the MCs names into the title. 20 rappers, eight bars a piece. Safe to say this is a monumental track from Leaf Dog, as he continues to build on the intrigue for his forthcoming album, Dyslexic Disciple. Phi Life Cypher, Smellington Piff, BVA, Cracker Jon, Jehst, Jack Jetson, Dirty Dike, Verb T, Sonnyjim, Mysdiggi, Klashnekoff, Fliptrix, Bill Shakes, Eric The Red, King Kashmere, Remus, Task Force and DJ Sammy B-Side providing the cuts. Pre-orders for the album are available here.

There is usually deserved hype when Scorzayzee drops new material and this new project is no exception. Featuring a definite culinary theme, Scorz and his GM Unit wage war on fast food in Gangsta Wraps. You can pre-order the vinyl now, which also includes Equestriansim and the Chester P collaboration, Double Dragon. Orders are available here.
