New release from Onoe Caponoe, as the High Focus MC lets rip over a tasty dub from Terror Danjah and Sir Spyro. Onoe’s latest album, Surf Or Die, is out now.

As has now become tradition, this month sees the return of the annual High Focus Summer Block Party at, Lakota, the legendary Bristol venue. The intergalactic catlord, Onoe Caponoe, returned to our planet last week with a stellar new album, Surf Or Die. As ever, experimental is the word, as the High Focus MC delivers his usual brand of subversive and left field rap. His flows shift from controlled to frenetic over a broad selection of beats from a number of producers, including Chemo, Jae Genius, Lord Pusswhip and Onoe himself. Next month on 18 April, as is now customary in Bristol, High Focus will roll into town en masse to celebrate their 9th birthday. Following on from last year’s success, once again they will takeover the SWX nightclub which is situated bang in the middle of town and will bring with them a selection of the finest artists that their ever-increasing roster has to offer.
On the bill this year we have performances from The Four Owls, Jam Baxter, Coops, Onoe Caponoe, Ed Scissor, Strange U, Ronnie Bosh and Pitch 92 as well as their latest signing Datkid, plus loads more MCs and DJs to get the place jumping. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of reaching one of these events in the past, then you will know what to expect and that what to expect is something special.

Another gem from Onoe Caponoe as he continues to build the hype for his forthcoming album. Blood Moon sees the High Focus MC joining forces with Lord Pusswhip for some trap fuelled audible joy. The video was made by Craig Capone. Surf or Die is due for release on 29 March.

Another audio visual treat from the upcoming Onoe Caponoe album, as the intergalactic cat lord returns with his latest single, Valentines Massacre. Once again it’s Jae Genius on the beat, with the ever capable This & That Media on video duties. Surf or Die is set for release on 29 March on High Focus.

Today saw the release of the next video from Fliptrix’s latest album, INEXHALE. Inside The Ride features fellow HF residents, Ocean Wisdom and Onoe Caponoe, as the trio get busy on some quality production from Molotov. INEXHALE is out now on High Focus.

Next month Bristol once again plays host to one of High Focus Record’s legendary parties. In the past the city has given a stage to their summer roadblocks and winter parties, but this time they will be one of two cities taking part in the label’s 8th birthday celebrations. Stepping away from their usual haunt of Lakota for this one, HF are headed to SWX in the centre of town. Mad track here from UZ and Stooki Sound, as they draft in the ample talents of Orifice Vulgatron and Onoe Caponoe for Bang. The track is just one of the gems to be found on UZ’s Layers LP, which was released earlier in the year on Quality Goods Records.
