Smellington Piff: NFA

Smellington Piff is finally gracing us with a new album, four years after he grabbed our attention with his 2014 effort, Notice of Eviction. Drawing once again on inspiration from his traveller heritage and the general spirit of RLD Records as a whole, No Fixed Abode is going to be fuelled by an anti-authoritarian energy, as demonstrated in the first video from the album. NFA is produced by Illinformed, with cuts from DJ Merk and the video was made by This & That Media. No Fixed Abode is due out on RLD on 28 March.

Farma Beats: The Sentimental Alien (Album Stream)

As I mentioned last week, Farma Beats has been working on a new album and now we get to indulge ourselves in its full splendour, following its official release yesterday. Featuring a strong list of MCs from both the UK and the US, The Sentimental Alien is built on some of Farma’s strongest production to date and the calibre of the beats has enticed the guests involved to bring their best pen game to the project.
There are features from Lee Scott, Salar, Anyway Tha God, Smellington Piff, Remus, Flashius Clayton, Dirty Dike, Skuff and a whole load more. You can stream the album below and you can download it over on Bandcamp, where you can also find a bit more background information on how it all came to be. Leaf Dog ft. Everyone: The Legacy

I had to write ‘everyone’ cos I literally cannot fit all the MCs names into the title. 20 rappers, eight bars a piece. Safe to say this is a monumental track from Leaf Dog, as he continues to build on the intrigue for his forthcoming album, Dyslexic Disciple. Phi Life Cypher, Smellington Piff, BVA, Cracker Jon, Jehst, Jack Jetson, Dirty Dike, Verb T, Sonnyjim, Mysdiggi, Klashnekoff, Fliptrix, Bill Shakes, Eric The Red, King Kashmere, Remus, Task Force and DJ Sammy B-Side providing the cuts. Pre-orders for the album are available here.

High Focus Bristol Roadblock: Review

_dsc0088

A couple of weeks ago the High Focus squad rolled into Bristol en masse, for what looked set to be a day of good vibes, good people and good BBQ. Taking over the legendary Lakota club for a seven hour rampage, the bill boasted a weighty line-up including Dabbla, Ocean Wisdom, Fliptrix and Dirty Dike.

Cracker Jon & 2Late ft. Sly Moon, Dubbul O, Smellington Piff & Eric The Red: The Funk Off

The latest leak from Cracker Jon & 2Late’s album found the light of day this week, in the form of The Funk Off. As the name suggests, 2Late drops a funky beat for Cracker & a host of equally pitched MCs, along with Dubbul O, to murder. Nice use of Malice in Wonderland in the visuals too. The album, You Can Take the Cracker Out of Croydon, is out tomorrow and my review will be up within next couple of days.
