Talos: Talos Enters + Album Stream

Today High Focus unveiled a brand new album, from one of my favourite breakthrough producers of the year. Talos first came to my attention thanks to his jazz-heavy production for Coops, before releasing a stunning EP earlier this year, which featured Jerome Thomas and Nubya Garcia among others.
Now he has returned with a full length project, comprised of 16 instrumentals which provide a clear window into the strength of his production. There is also a new video to accompany the release, which you can watch above. The album, Dissonance, is available to stream below, as well as on all the other usual platforms. Coops: Life In The Flesh (Stream)

The long-awaited new album from Coops is finally here, following on from a string of solid releases including his April mixtape, No Brainer. In The Flesh is described as a concept album of sorts, which deals with the cycle of life, death and reincarnation. It’s produced in its entirety by Talos, so you already know Coops is in good hands, thanks to their previous collaborations. The album is available to stream below, with physicals available from the High Focus store. Continue reading “Coops: Life In The Flesh (Stream)”

Talos ft. Nubya Garcia: Lowlight Jazz

Intriguing project from High Focus, as Coops’ favourite, Talos, releases his debut solo EP. I say intriguing because if this first taste is anything to go by, it signals a shift away from the reliable hip hop parameters that have rightfully earned HF their legions of fans. This is a heavily jazz influenced track, made even more apparent by the appearance of Nubya Garcia, the London-based jazz saxophonist and composer. Great start to the EP and it’s definitely piqued my interest for the rest of the project. You can stream/download the Lowlight EP at all the usual spots.
