Tomorrow sees the release of the new collaborative project from Confucius MC and Morriarchi. Known collectively as Old Paradice, the duo have combined their ample individual talents into one refined rap entity, which sits in its own niche thanks to a sound and style reminiscent of days past, while keeping a steady finger on the pulse of the new wave.
We have already been treated to a couple of samples from The Last Resort, but the full project is going to surpass those expectations as they deliver songs with solid features from both Violet Springs and Blu.
I am also pleased to be able to announce that the EP will be available on limited edition cassette (as pictured), which comes complete with stickers and a mini personalised Old Paradice Polaroid. Pre-orders for all of this is available over on Bandcamp and you can stream the EP below. Continue reading “Old Paradice: The Last Resort (Stream)”
Strong debut from newly formed duo, Old Paradice, as they rake up summer memories on Sunkissed. Consisting of producer, Morriarchi and lyricist, Confucius MC, the pair have gathered enough credits and plaudits within the scene over the years for this new outfit to be an inevitable success. Sunkissed is lifted from the forthcoming EP, The Last Resort. The single is out now via Bandcamp and the EP is scheduled for release on 18 January on Group Bracil. Having got our hunger pangs raging with a couple of leaked tracks, last Friday saw the release of the full album from Scran Cartel aka MNSR Frites and Benny Diction. As well as their own ample skills, the two MCs have also drafted in a wealth of talent to assist with the album, including features from Oliver Sudden, Tony Skank and Juga-Naut, as well as production credits from the likes of Krang, Chemo and Morriarchi. The album is available to stream in full below and downloads are available on Bandcamp. Continue reading “Scran Cartel: Blue Plaque Candidates (Stream)”
New joint from Black Josh & Sleazy as they reunite on Liquorwish. The track is produced by Morriarchi and you can stream it below. Continue reading “Black Josh x Sleazy: Liquorwish”
This week sees the arrival of the new project from MNSR Frites and Benny Diction – aka Scran Cartel. The food loving duo are hitting us with 12 tracks, including the previously highlighted Bon Appétit and this freshly baked intro, Scrantro.
It’s produced by Morriarchi, who is just one of the talented heads involved in the album, alongside the likes of Krang, Juga-Naut and Chemo. You can stream Scrantro below and you can cop a pre-order for the album over on Bandcamp. The release date is scheduled for 3 August. Continue reading “Scran Cartel: Scrantro”
We have also recently been blessed with the long-awaited Hardcorepimpfunk LP from Bisk, produced in full by Morriarchi. More on that to follow, but for now you can enjoy a taste with the video for Koyote, which was released today. Gritty visuals for a gritty track. Hardcorepimpfunk is available now on Blah Records.
Trying to keep up with Bisk projects is nigh on impossible, as the Blah MC doesn’t seem to stop releasing tape after tape, EP after EP. Hardcorepimpfunk is the latest release looming on the horizon and One & Only is the latest glimpse we have at it. The track is produced by Morriarchi, who is behind the boards for the whole project, which is due out on Blah on 22 June, marking his first vinyl release on the label. The video was made by Huw Caddy.
Fresh music from Blah’s Canadian connect, as Danny Lover releases the first video from his latest album. Mr Cool is a classic example of Danny’s laid-back lyricism and flow, with Morriarchi’s sparse, stripped down production giving it the ideal backdrop. The album, Live From The UK, was made while Danny was visiting his label mates back in 2016. Continue reading “Danny Lover: Mr. Cool + Album Stream”
More new music from Bang On!, as he gears up to hit us with his latest project, The Power of Not Being Arsed. Patio is the first drop from the release and features fellow Blah associates, Lee Scott and Bisk on a left field wave, thanks to Morriarchi’s production. The Power of Not Being Arsed is due for digital release tomorrow.
You might remember me covering Restbyte when it arrived earlier this year. It’s yet another impeccable beat tape from one of the UK’s most innovative producers, Morriarchi. The 18 track showcase has gone down so well that Morri has decided to do a limited run of cassette versions too. They are available to purchase now over on his Bandcamp and if you want to try before you buy, you can do so below. Continue reading “Morriarchi: Restbyte – Cassette Edition”
