The latest album from Verbz and Mr Slipz was finally given life last week, and to coincide with the release the duo decided to bless us with another video from the project as well. Decline of Self is just one of the more thought provoking tracks on the album, strengthened by a couple of tight features from Confucius MC and Coops. The video was made by Honey JD. Radio Waves is out now via High Focus.
Another new dose of visual bliss from Verbz & Mr Slipz, as the hype for their forthcoming album continues to build. My Wonders also features fellow label-mate, Fliptrix, as well as video from Parallel Media, which uses a colour palette that Outkast would be proud of. The album, Radio Waves, is due for release on 13 November via High Focus.
Verbz and Mr Slipz keep the hype building for their new album, with the release of their latest single. The Feeling is more of that straight up boom bap brilliance we have come to expect from the duo, accompanied by a typically slick video from Parallel Media. The album, Radio Waves, is due for release on 13 November via High Focus.
After a couple of tantalising clips and videos, Verbz and Mr Slipz are ready to deliver their official High Focus debut LP. Today sees the release of the lead single from the album, with Verbz and Slipz proving exactly why their creative partnership is so much in demand. As well as the neck-snapping drum-driven production from Slipz, there are also some tasty cuts from Tom Yum and the video was made by Parallel Media. Keep an eye out for a couple of cameos too. I’ll have more news on the album soon.
Nice burst of bars from Verbz, accompanied by Mr Slipz on the MPC, as they continue to build the anticipation for their High Focus debut.
Brand new track from Verbz and Mr Slipz, as they continue to celebrate their new union with High Focus. For My Peeps is a song for all those absent friends who cannot be with us for whatever reason and it is dedicated to Joey Deez of Village Live, who sadly passed away last week. He will be missed by many. The video was made by the LOUDHOUSE gang.
High Focus recently announced that they had further boosted their roster with the addition of Verbz and Mr Slipz. The London-Brighton duo released a superb album together back in 2018, filled with tasty jazz breaks and stellar penmanship, and this latest single is carrying on the same tradition. It also comes alongside a typically slick video from LOUDHOUSE. No news on the album yet, but stay tuned. Streams of Iron Grip are available at the usual spots.
New sounds from the Group BraCil camp as they release their new label compilation. happiness, we’re all in this together is a fine blend of old and new, as the rising label hit us with tracks from the likes of Verbz and Chuck Enzo, while also bringing new members to the fore with new material from Spectacular Diagnostics and Don Leisure. It serves as a fine showcase for a label who have consistently proven their worth with each new release, and who look set to continue blurring the lines between genres as their roster gains strength. You can hear the album in full below, with physical and digital versions available on Bandcamp. Continue reading “Group BraCil: happiness, we’re all in this together (Stream)”
New visuals from C.A.M’s most recent EP, Just Breathe, which was given life in July last year. On City Down South, the boom bap MC is joined by blog favourite, Verbz. The video was made by Parallel Media. Just Breathe is available now via Bandcamp.
Pathways is the latest arrival from Verbz and it’s another win for the Croydon-based MC, as he finds a new home on flourishing label, Group Bracil. Following on from his single producer album, alongside Mr Slipz in 2017, this latest project features a bevy of talented beat-makers, including Morriarchi, Norm Oddity, Chuck Enzo and 2Late. There are also some notable guest spots too from CLBRKS, NuphZed, Bador and BaggE. There’s a heavy jazz feel to the album, with Verbz taking his voice into new territory, while still maintaining the level of lyricism that has made him one of my favourite MCs at work right now. You can listen to Pathways below and limited edition physicals are available on Bandcamp.
