Black Josh recently released the next single from his upcoming Yung Sweg Lawd project. Once again he’s got Reklews on the beat, resulting in the nice laid-back flavours of 2 Fone Shawty. The video was made by Ellis Meade.

Blah stays smashing them out, as Black Josh returns with the title track from his imminent Young Sweg Lawd album. The track is produced by Blah OG producer, Reklews, who brings in the rough and rugged drums for Josh to lace. Yung Sweg Lawd is coming soon to Blah Records.

Surprise release from Lee Scott, as he sneaks out Oh, The Fun We’re All Having – probably just one of 1,700 projects he’s sitting on right now. The EP stands at six tracks long, including the previously released, What If Lee Was a Lil Rapper… joint. Production comes from Lee, Nobodies Home, Sniff and DEW8. There are also a few features from Sniff, Black Josh, Lyza Jane and Jazz T. You can stream the EP below, with downloads available via Bandcamp. Read the rest of this entry »

For my money, Black Josh is one of the most versatile MCs at work in the UK today. He sounds just as at home tearing your sound system a new one with Levelz, or getting trappy on tracks like Little Rock, as he does on a laid-back beat from The Mouse Outfit, or this new one which surfaced yesterday. Dem Ways is a nice chilled guitar-laced affair, with Dylantheinfamous behind the boards and is the first track to be taken from Josh’s forthcoming LP, Yung Sweg Lawd. More news on that to follow. The video was made by Bombay Arthouse.

Here is the next instalment from the eagerly awaited Cult of the Damned album. Salt Water is produced by Sam Zircon and features some typically deft bars from Bisk, Lee Scott, Salar, Stinkin Slumrok and Black Josh. The COTD album is scheduled for release this Friday and I can tell you now, it is most definitely worth your attention. Pre-orders are available here.

It’s been cold as fuck for too long now, but a saving grace is that it is inspiring new music (maybe). Take Nebraska, the new joint from Milkavelli, Black Josh and Lee Scott. Produced by Levelz own, Biome, the track is the best sort of filth, right from the opening bar. The opening shot says it’s Milk & Josh featuring Lee, so maybe that means we’re going to get a proper project from the two of them. The video was made by AboveGround.

With the wave of their recent comeback video still riding high and with the imminent arrival of their Part Deux: Brick Pelican Posse Crew Gang Syndicate album, Cult of the Damned have announced a UK tour. The crew will be passing through six cities in total, over three consecutive weekends in April and May. It is going to be a full gang experience, with Lee Scott, Milkavelli, Black Josh, Stinkin Slumrok, Sniff, Salar, Sly Moon, Barebase, King Grubb, Bill Shakes, Bisk and Tony Broke on the bill, as well as a special UK appearance from Canada’s own cult associate, Danny Lover. Plus Reklews, Sam Zircon, Jazz T and Sumgii holding down the decks.

There had been rumours circulating that COTD were coming back with new material and then they were confirmed with the announcement that we would get a new video today. And sure enough, I woke up to find Civilised plastered over multiple timelines.
It is definitely full gang, as Barebase, King Grubb, Salar, Bill Shakes, Lee Scott, Black Josh, Milkavelli, Stinkin Slumrok and Sniff all drop verses, with Sam Zircon and Bisk handling production. Suitably grimy aesthetic, further cementing Blah and their various off-shoots as the no fucks given older brother of some of the other UK rap labels. The excellent single take video was made by aboveGround.

Another day, another video from those B-Movie Millionaire Sweg Lawds, Lee Scott & Black Josh. Chicken Pill is the next video from their latest project, which saw its official release yesterday. Great production from Sam Zircon as per and the video was made by Ellisdawg. You can read more about Attack Of The 50,000ft SWEG LAWDS from Outerspace here.

Blah have released another video from the new Lee Scott & Black Josh project. This time it’s for SW£G LEVEL 9000, which also features a welcome appearance from Blackburn’s finest, Bill Shakes. The video was actually made three years ago, in the same kitchen where the album was born. Attack of the 50,000 ft SWEG LAWDS from Outer Space is released on all formats tomorrow.
