Yesterday saw the return of Benny Diction and his new Oak Dreams EP. Once again teaming up with Australian producer, Able8, for what is now their third project, the duo deliver six fresh cuts which were first given life when Benny visited Able in his homeland. The Australian influence is noticeable throughout, including a feature from Perth MC, Mathas. There is also another guest spot from Benny’s fellow Scran Cartel member, MNSR Frites. You can stream Oak Dreams below, with other streaming and downloads available via Millennium Jazz Music. Continue reading “Benny Diction & Able8: Oak Dreams (Stream)”
Start your week with the latest video to be taken from Scran Cartel’s Blue Plaque Candidates LP. For Dundee, Benny Diction and MNSR Frites brought in the ever-reliable Chemo to handle the production. If you haven’t checked out the album yet, downloads are available on Bandcamp.
Having got our hunger pangs raging with a couple of leaked tracks, last Friday saw the release of the full album from Scran Cartel aka MNSR Frites and Benny Diction. As well as their own ample skills, the two MCs have also drafted in a wealth of talent to assist with the album, including features from Oliver Sudden, Tony Skank and Juga-Naut, as well as production credits from the likes of Krang, Chemo and Morriarchi. The album is available to stream in full below and downloads are available on Bandcamp. Continue reading “Scran Cartel: Blue Plaque Candidates (Stream)”
This week sees the arrival of the new project from MNSR Frites and Benny Diction – aka Scran Cartel. The food loving duo are hitting us with 12 tracks, including the previously highlighted Bon Appétit and this freshly baked intro, Scrantro.
It’s produced by Morriarchi, who is just one of the talented heads involved in the album, alongside the likes of Krang, Juga-Naut and Chemo. You can stream Scrantro below and you can cop a pre-order for the album over on Bandcamp. The release date is scheduled for 3 August. Continue reading “Scran Cartel: Scrantro”
Happy to announce the imminent arrival of the collaborative album from Benny Diction and Mnsr Frites – aka Scran Cartel. Food-based wordplay and culinary references in abundance, as this amuse-bouche demonstrates with the Cartel joining forces with fellow foodie, Juga-Naut, for Bon Appétit. Jugz also produced the track. The full album is scheduled for release at the end of the month; stay tuned for more on that coming very soon.
A great debut from a great group of established MCs, who have come together to form something of a UK supergroup. Beit Nun, Benny Diction and Deeflux have all been familiar names on the scene for years and have made some classic tracks as their own entities, but Corners may be their best work yet, as the combined power of the three creates something a little bit special. Another solid album from Granville Sessions has been given life and is now available for your delectation. Monument is the third album from the South London crew, following on from 2011’s No State and 2013’s Forward, both of which were well received by critics and helped earn a reputation for strong lyricism, alongside notable live performances. The brand new video from Granville Sessions premiered on We Plug Good Music yesterday and it’s another smasher from the South London collective. Calgon Sunrise is going to be available to download from 10 June.
Yet more new music from the Moose, as they drop their second EP in as many weeks: Hoof Prints Vol. 2. This time the release is produced in its entirety by arguably the UK’s best coiffured producer, Pte Cannon. The track is great and is made even greater by the excellent video by Cowboy Tactics. Good shit. The EP is available to download over at Bandcamp.
Following on from my post about their new EP, Moose Funk Squad just dropped a new video. Habitat, like the rest of the EP, is produced by P739. Downloads are available here.
