Jehst: Mork Calling Orson (Stream)

A pleasing return to centre stage from Jehst, with the release of his first solo album since 2017’s, Billy Green is Dead. Mork Calling Orson finds the UK rap linchpin on typically fine form, with his pen remaining as sharp as ever and his production choices setting the album’s mood without fault. Contributions from Sam Zircon, Beat Butcha, Sonnyjim, Mr Brown, Keor Meteor, Taharka and Jehst himself, provide a varied but unified sound, while Lee Scott, CW Jones, Sindysman, Eva Lazarus and Confucius MC, all prove to be the perfect co-stars. Previews of Mork Calling Orson can be heard below, with Bandcamp being the best spot to grab your downloads and physical copies.

Jehst ft. Confucius MC & Eva Lazarus: One Horse Town + LP News

Jehst has released a steady stream of singles since 2019, which gave the appearance of an unrelated collection of loosies. It now turns out that they were all building towards the release of his new album, which arrives six years after Billy Green is Dead. The album, Mork Calling Orson, is due for release in early February, which means there is still time for a couple more singles, including One Horse Town. The Taharka-produced track sees Jehst reuniting with long-term collaborator, Confucius MC, as well as drafting in Eva Lazarus for some soulful assistance. You can check out One Horse Town below, while Mork Calling Orson is available for pre-order now.

Confucius MC: Somewhere (Stream)

Continuing that run of beautiful releases with the latest album from Confucius MC. Somewhere is a reunion of sorts, as it is produced in full by Keor Meteor, who was the man behind the boards on The Highest Order, back in 2014. This new album captures the same creative spark they discovered back then and builds it up into an inferno of lyrical insights, compelling narratives and jazz-soaked beats. Plenty of notable features too, thanks to appearances from Jehst, Sonnyjim, Verbz, Strange U and Lee Scott. You can get lost in the full brilliance of the album below, while Bandcamp is the spot to find your downloads and physicals.

Confucius MC ft. Jehst: World Stage

Let the gems continue, with the latest leak from the forthcoming Confucius MC album. The London rapper has reunited with Keor Meteor for Somewhere, as they successfully continue the magic of their ongoing creative alliance. On World Stage, Confucius is joined by another long-term collaborator, Jehst, who makes a few appearances on the album. It’s due for release on 3 September, with pre-orders available now via YNR Productions.

Oblique Strategies ft. Confucius MC: Cognoscenti

Another visual instalment from the Oblique Strategies album, as Cappo and Mr Brown deliver their latest video. This time the penmanship levels are increased thanks to a solid feature from Confucius MC who brings his talents to the suitably titled, Cognoscenti. The video was made by Zygote and the album, Raw Pastiche, is out now on We Stay True.

Confucius MC: War & Peace

More new music for your Friday, with the latest from Confucius MC and the lead up to his new solo album. War & Peace is the second single to be lifted from the album, which features full production from Keor Meteor. The video was made by Honey JD and Bee Graphics. The track is available to download now, with the album due for release shortly via YNR Productions.

Confucius MC ft. Sonnyjim, Verbz & Jehst: Lanterns (Official Video)

There is now an official video for the latest single from Confucius MC. The track was released a few weeks ago, alongside a lyric video, but now the YNR MC has returned with a suitably slick video, shot in the lantern laden streets of London’s Chinatown. The track is produced by Keor Meteor and Jehst, and also features verses from Sonnyjim, Verbz and Jehst. The video was made by Bee Graphics.

Confucius MC ft. Sonnyjim, Verbz & Jehst: Lanterns

New music from Confucius MC as he kicks off 2021 proceedings with a fresh banger. Lanterns brings a bit of light to the early year blues, thanks to a lyrical extravaganza involving four top tier rappers. As well as the man himself, there are also contributions from SonnyJim, Verbz and Jehst, raising the bar early for 2021 in the process. The track is produced by Keor Meteor and the lyric video was made by Bee Graphics. Streams are also available.

Verbz & Mr Slipz ft. Confucius MC & Coops: Decline Of Self

The latest album from Verbz and Mr Slipz was finally given life last week, and to coincide with the release the duo decided to bless us with another video from the project as well. Decline of Self is just one of the more thought provoking tracks on the album, strengthened by a couple of tight features from Confucius MC and Coops. The video was made by Honey JD. Radio Waves is out now via High Focus.

Confucius MC: WW

Good to hear Confucius MC back at it, as he releases his latest single. WW is heavily inspired by the world of wrestling entertainment, which has seen a growing presence in rap, thanks to the likes of Westside Gunn and his seemingly endless referencing. The focus is on the fact that while things in the game might not appear to be real, the pain is definitely genuine. Production on the track comes from California-based producer, Wann Sklobi. WW is out now on YNR Productions.
