There is now an official video for the latest single from Confucius MC. The track was released a few weeks ago, alongside a lyric video, but now the YNR MC has returned with a suitably slick video, shot in the lantern laden streets of London’s Chinatown. The track is produced by Keor Meteor and Jehst, and also features verses from Sonnyjim, Verbz and Jehst. The video was made by Bee Graphics.
New music from Confucius MC as he kicks off 2021 proceedings with a fresh banger. Lanterns brings a bit of light to the early year blues, thanks to a lyrical extravaganza involving four top tier rappers. As well as the man himself, there are also contributions from SonnyJim, Verbz and Jehst, raising the bar early for 2021 in the process. The track is produced by Keor Meteor and the lyric video was made by Bee Graphics. Streams are also available.
The latest album from Verbz and Mr Slipz was finally given life last week, and to coincide with the release the duo decided to bless us with another video from the project as well. Decline of Self is just one of the more thought provoking tracks on the album, strengthened by a couple of tight features from Confucius MC and Coops. The video was made by Honey JD. Radio Waves is out now via High Focus.
Good to hear Confucius MC back at it, as he releases his latest single. WW is heavily inspired by the world of wrestling entertainment, which has seen a growing presence in rap, thanks to the likes of Westside Gunn and his seemingly endless referencing. The focus is on the fact that while things in the game might not appear to be real, the pain is definitely genuine. Production on the track comes from California-based producer, Wann Sklobi. WW is out now on YNR Productions.
New music from Confucius MC, as he hits us with his first single since the arrival of last year’s Old Paradice project, alongside Morriarchi. This latest track finds the YNR MC teaming up with another Blah affiliate, courtesy of the on-point production efforts of Sam Zircon, as Confucius urges us all to take a deeper look. Look Deeper is available to stream now on all the usual platforms. You can catch Confucius on tour with Jehst next month, with tickets available now. Continue reading “Confucius MC: Look Deeper”
Autumn Nights is the brand new single from UK hip hop veteran, Jehst, which emerged this week. The track is produced by Keor Meteor and also features a guest spot from regular Jehst collaborator, Confucius MC. Upcoming tour dates have also been announced, which hopefully means that a new Jehst project is on the horizon. You can listen to the full track below.
Next month the Concorde 2 in Brighton plays host to a number of UK rap luminaries, as they gather in the Southern city in support of a very good cause. For the past few years the Bimiri Foundation have been trying to secure enough funding to build a water pipeline for the Nepalese village of Bimiri. It should go without saying that everyone in the world has the right to clean water access, but as we all know this is very from the reality of the hardships a lot of people have to face every day. More blissed out vibes emanating from Old Paradice, as they return with their latest single, Whats Ifs? This time round Confucius MC and Morriarchi join forces with accomplished LA rap entity, Blu, who drops in perfectly as the Swarvy remix kicks in. The single is lifted from The Last Resort EP, which is available now via Group Bracil. Continue reading “Old Paradice ft. Blu: What Ifs?”
More lo-fi wonders from Old Paradice as they release the next video from their debut EP. Wake Up is all dreamy jazz horns and laid-back lyricism, thanks to Morriarchi and Confucius MC’s respective talents. The full EP, The Last Resort, is out now on Group Bracil.
Tomorrow sees the release of the new collaborative project from Confucius MC and Morriarchi. Known collectively as Old Paradice, the duo have combined their ample individual talents into one refined rap entity, which sits in its own niche thanks to a sound and style reminiscent of days past, while keeping a steady finger on the pulse of the new wave.
We have already been treated to a couple of samples from The Last Resort, but the full project is going to surpass those expectations as they deliver songs with solid features from both Violet Springs and Blu.
I am also pleased to be able to announce that the EP will be available on limited edition cassette (as pictured), which comes complete with stickers and a mini personalised Old Paradice Polaroid. Pre-orders for all of this is available over on Bandcamp and you can stream the EP below. Continue reading “Old Paradice: The Last Resort (Stream)”
