Today is also release day for the debut solo LP from Harvs Le Toad. The Yogocop MC has rounded up a strong selection of players to help make Chicks & Tikka Naans a powerful touch paper for the flames that are likely to follow in his career. Production comes from the likes of Benaddict, Mr Slipz and Saulthesame, plus there are some nice features from Dirty Dike, Benaddict, Salmon Hands and CW Jones. The album is available to stream below and you can grab physicals/downloads over on Bandcamp. Read the rest of this entry »

Great track from the upcoming debut LP from Yogocop representative, Harvs Le Toad. Some Days sees Harvs hooking up with fellow label-mate, Benaddict, who injects his top notch production skills into the proceedings. Chicks & Tikka Naans is due out on 31 January and you can find pre-orders over on the Yogocop store.

New single from Benaddict, which emerged last week. Shades Of You features joint production from FloFilz and Psalm Trees aka Benaddict’s production alter ego. There is also a B-side called Just Write, which is solely produced by Psalm Trees. As well as the digital version, the Yogocop MC has also pressed a single 10″ vinyl copy which he is currently auctioning off on his Facebook page. The money raised will go to Mind. You can find the details here but be quick cos it closes at 5pm today. You can stream Shades Of You below. Read the rest of this entry »

Another jewel from the crown that is Benaddict’s latest album. The Yogocop MC was the force behind two of last year’s high points – The Garden of England and Teal – and now he is back with A New Leaf. The production on the album is split between Ded Tebiase and psalm/trees, with both producers tuning into that classic boom bap sound that Benaddict always works best with.

As I said last week Benaddict has been working on his new album, which is produced by both Ded Tebiase and psalm/trees. This is the first official video, following on from the promo bars he released last week and it sees Tebiase take to the boards for Say Nothing. The single is available to buy and stream now from all the usual platforms. You can also pre-order the vinyl for A New Leaf here.

One of my favourite voices on the UK scene has a new album coming. Benaddict released two excellent albums last year, his solo LP The Garden of England and also Teal, which was a collaboration with vocalist Ella Mae and producer, Slim. 2018 will see him release A New Leaf and this week he dropped a video to help promote the album. No pre-orders or release date yet, but keep an eye open for more on that coming soon. The track was produced by psalm/trees.

Strong debut from South West rap duo, Pupils of the Clock and their Timless album. The pair – Tok and Lazy Eyez – have been steadily building their skills over the past few years and have now reached the point of bringing their music to the critical masses; suffice it to say it was worth the wait.
The list of production credits is testament to their skills on the mic, with names like Benaddict, Chillman and Wundrop all bringing their beats to the project. The result is 12 tracks of solid rap, laced with confidence beyond their years. Looking forward to hearing how they progress from here. You can stream Timeless below and downloads are available via Bandcamp. Read the rest of this entry »

More gold on the way from the Village, as Benaddict, Ella Mae and Slim unite their ample talents for Teal. The pre-orders went live last night and considering how popular all Village Live’s other releases have been, you would be wise to make your move soon.
Benaddict and Ella already worked together on The Garden of England, so I can vouch for their chemistry on a track. Along with the addition of Slim’s relaxed yet intricate production, Teal looks set to be another must have. There is a little preview mix from Evil Ed, which you can stream below and then head over to the Village Live store to get your orders in. The official release date is 28 August. Last week Yogocop Records released a new video from Benaddicts’s recent LP, The Garden of England and so I thought I’d use the opportunity to tell you how fucking good the album is. If you’re yet to experience it, suffice it to say it is easily one of my favourite UK releases of this year and is arguably one of the more accomplished releases of the year too.
