The Juice is the latest single from Illiterate and Vitamin G’s new collaborative effort, which saw its full release on Friday. The album boasts some extremely strong tracks, including this number, as well as a few guest spots from some familiar names with CW Jones, Nuphzed and Wundrop all dropping into the mix. Vitamin G is on a roll at the moment, between this Illitamin G project and his CMPND movements over on High Focus, which is fine by me as in my eyes and ears he remains one of the best voices on the scene right now. You can stream the full album below and downloads are available via Yogocop. Read the rest of this entry »

Today is also release day for the debut solo LP from Harvs Le Toad. The Yogocop MC has rounded up a strong selection of players to help make Chicks & Tikka Naans a powerful touch paper for the flames that are likely to follow in his career. Production comes from the likes of Benaddict, Mr Slipz and Saulthesame, plus there are some nice features from Dirty Dike, Benaddict, Salmon Hands and CW Jones. The album is available to stream below and you can grab physicals/downloads over on Bandcamp. Read the rest of this entry »

Still playing catch up after the festive season, today I’ve got more new music to kick off your week with, starting with the latest EP from UK rap legend, Mongo. The Mud Fam OG has returned to the fore with a five track EP, which takes on a more emotional tone than some of his older fans may be expecting (the clue’s in the title). He didn’t come alone either, as The Feels sees Mongo drafting in some notable homegrown names to assist him. Greg Blackman makes two appearances, lending his weighty vocals to Thankful and 2GD4EM, while the EP is closed off with a little help from Sniff and CW Jones on the previously released single, Cemetery Road. The production comes from Jonny Capicola, LRD, SIM and Formz. You can stream The Feels below, with downloads available via Shadow Player Records. Read the rest of this entry »

Great compilation from genre defying London outfit, Button Eyes, as we finally get all their beautiful songs in one place. Button Eyes first came to my attention with the release of Simple Days and A Fever, back in 2013, which featured vocalists Gemma Williams and Rag’N’Bone Man – still some of my favourite work of his to date – as well Please Don’t Take My Blues, featuring contemporary blues man, CW Jones. Now thanks to Lewis Lindgren (184, Taunton Manor etc.), the man behind the music, we have those tracks alongside later releases like Chemicals and Erase Me. Nobody’s Baby is available to stream below and downloads are available via Western Decadence. Read the rest of this entry »

Check out this recently published video, made from footage that was filmed three years ago for a track from Finn Mcveigh, iNDEX, illiterate and CW Jones. Good to see it finally being given life. Reflections is produced by Mr Slipz.

Vard is back with a new track, featuring some very good company. The Sheffield MC links up with Bristol-based rapper, Dash Villz, who drops a nice verse, followed up by some wicked vocals from CW Jones. Vard himself is on point as ever and Baileys Brown provides the perfect foundation with his production. The video was filmed by fellow Bristol resident, Chris Lucas. A Tower of Dank, Vard’s upcoming full length project, is out soon.

Great new track from Button Eyes, which is taken from a recent compilation by Berlin-based collective, Project Mooncircle. Featuring typically sublime vocals from CW Jones, as well as 184’s ever dope production, I’m hoping we’ll hear more from the crew this year. You can stream the track below and the compilation itself is available here. Read the rest of this entry »

This was a solid release from back in June that might have passed you by at the time. Hailing from Andover, Broken Poetz are two MCs called D.Know and Mystero, who have been putting music out together for the past few years. Read the rest of this entry »
