Jehst: Mork Calling Orson (Stream)

A pleasing return to centre stage from Jehst, with the release of his first solo album since 2017’s, Billy Green is Dead. Mork Calling Orson finds the UK rap linchpin on typically fine form, with his pen remaining as sharp as ever and his production choices setting the album’s mood without fault. Contributions from Sam Zircon, Beat Butcha, Sonnyjim, Mr Brown, Keor Meteor, Taharka and Jehst himself, provide a varied but unified sound, while Lee Scott, CW Jones, Sindysman, Eva Lazarus and Confucius MC, all prove to be the perfect co-stars. Previews of Mork Calling Orson can be heard below, with Bandcamp being the best spot to grab your downloads and physical copies.

Wish Master: The Bull (Stream)

New music here from Wish Master as he releases his latest album, The Bull. Following on from the Ral Duke produced intro which emerged the other week, production is varied throughout thanks to contributions from a few unfamiliar names (to me anyway), including Van Dam, Chimera and Niya, as well as the always on point, Hozay. Only two guests involved, with CW Jones lending his vocals to Don’t Waste Time and fellow OR artist, Jordan Nathaniel, dropping in on a few tracks. You can hear the whole project below, with downloads available via Bandcamp. Continue reading “Wish Master: The Bull (Stream)”

Chinese Man ft. CW Jones & Illaman: This One

Good to see Illaman reconnecting with Chinese Man on this smooth new track that emerged today. Even better to see them being joined by blues merchant, CW Jones, who provides the main batch of vocals, before passing the mic on to the ever-versatile, Illa, who finishes the track off with a typically solid verse. This One is lifted from Chinese Man’s recent project, The Groove Session Vol. 5, alongside Scratch Bandits Crew and Baja Frequencia. Continue reading “Chinese Man ft. CW Jones & Illaman: This One”

C.A.M ft. CW Jones: Sleepwalking + EP Stream

London rapper, C.A.M, returns to the fore with a new video and a new EP, following on from last year’s Persian Rugs project. Once again C.A.M delivers a weighty batch of solid boom bap, showcasing his ever-increasing competence and confidence on the mic. Just Breathe is produced in full by Bristol beat maker, BigLikeBaz, with the duo finding a highly successful partnership between their respective talents. Continue reading “C.A.M ft. CW Jones: Sleepwalking + EP Stream”

Illitamin G: The Juice + Album Stream

The Juice is the latest single from Illiterate and Vitamin G’s new collaborative effort, which saw its full release on Friday. The album boasts some extremely strong tracks, including this number, as well as a few guest spots from some familiar names with CW Jones, Nuphzed and Wundrop all dropping into the mix. Vitamin G is on a roll at the moment, between this Illitamin G project and his CMPND movements over on High Focus, which is fine by me as in my eyes and ears he remains one of the best voices on the scene right now. You can stream the full album below and downloads are available via Yogocop. Continue reading “Illitamin G: The Juice + Album Stream”

Harvs Le Toad: Chicks & Tikka Naans (Stream)

Today is also release day for the debut solo LP from Harvs Le Toad. The Yogocop MC has rounded up a strong selection of players to help make Chicks & Tikka Naans a powerful touch paper for the flames that are likely to follow in his career. Production comes from the likes of Benaddict, Mr Slipz and Saulthesame, plus there are some nice features from Dirty Dike, Benaddict, Salmon Hands and CW Jones. The album is available to stream below and you can grab physicals/downloads over on Bandcamp. Continue reading “Harvs Le Toad: Chicks & Tikka Naans (Stream)”

Mongo: The Feels EP (Stream)

Still playing catch up after the festive season, today I’ve got more new music to kick off your week with, starting with the latest EP from UK rap legend, Mongo. The Mud Fam OG has returned to the fore with a five track EP, which takes on a more emotional tone than some of his older fans may be expecting (the clue’s in the title). He didn’t come alone either, as The Feels sees Mongo drafting in some notable homegrown names to assist him. Greg Blackman makes two appearances, lending his weighty vocals to Thankful and 2GD4EM, while the EP is closed off with a little help from Sniff and CW Jones on the previously released single, Cemetery Road. The production comes from Jonny Capicola, LRD, SIM and Formz. You can stream The Feels below, with downloads available via Shadow Player Records. Continue reading “Mongo: The Feels EP (Stream)”
