This week we were treated to the full release of the NuphZed project; something fans have been clamouring for since his Dreebalicious EP dropped back in early 2017. Fickle Affection is the Brighton artist’s latest venture and finds him as on point as ever lyrically, further buoyed by the production, including some self-produced gems and contributions from Harvs and Allen Keys. There are also five remixes on there, from the likes of Psalm Trees, Illiterate and Bo Bribery. Kemastry and Harvs are also on hand for features on Phidgity and NuphPiggy respectively. The whole thing is available to stream below and you can cop a limited edition vinyl version via Yogocop. Continue reading “NuphZed: Fickle Affection (Stream)”
New music here from NuphZed, as he gets us ready for his forthcoming album. Fickle Affection is the title track from the project and features some simple but effective jazzy production from NuphZed, as well as a well timed video for these sunny days, courtesy of Nocky and Kevin Cheung. The album is due for release on 30 April, via YOGOCOP.
Pathways is the latest arrival from Verbz and it’s another win for the Croydon-based MC, as he finds a new home on flourishing label, Group Bracil. Following on from his single producer album, alongside Mr Slipz in 2017, this latest project features a bevy of talented beat-makers, including Morriarchi, Norm Oddity, Chuck Enzo and 2Late. There are also some notable guest spots too from CLBRKS, NuphZed, Bador and BaggE. There’s a heavy jazz feel to the album, with Verbz taking his voice into new territory, while still maintaining the level of lyricism that has made him one of my favourite MCs at work right now. You can listen to Pathways below and limited edition physicals are available on Bandcamp.
Major posse cut vibes from the CMPND camp, as they bless us with the latest video from their debut LP. Hindenburg sees the Brighton trio teaming up with some notable characters from the scene, as HERBiCiDE, Dike, Fliptrix, NuphZed and Stinkin Slumrok all jump on board another filthy beat from Wundrop.
The Juice is the latest single from Illiterate and Vitamin G’s new collaborative effort, which saw its full release on Friday. The album boasts some extremely strong tracks, including this number, as well as a few guest spots from some familiar names with CW Jones, Nuphzed and Wundrop all dropping into the mix. Vitamin G is on a roll at the moment, between this Illitamin G project and his CMPND movements over on High Focus, which is fine by me as in my eyes and ears he remains one of the best voices on the scene right now. You can stream the full album below and downloads are available via Yogocop. Continue reading “Illitamin G: The Juice + Album Stream”
Last week Yogocop Records released a new video from Benaddicts’s recent LP, The Garden of England and so I thought I’d use the opportunity to tell you how fucking good the album is. If you’re yet to experience it, suffice it to say it is easily one of my favourite UK releases of this year and is arguably one of the more accomplished releases of the year too. Continue reading “Benaddict: The Garden of England”
Benaddict is blessing us with a new album very soon and so expect a few promo shots in the meantime, like this new video for Does Anybody Care? Featuring fellow Yogocop mic wrangler, NuphZed, the track is also produced by Benaddict. You can pre-order The Garden of England here.
New dope from Brighton, as NuphZed drops off his latest release, Missing. It’s self-produced and is taken from his forthcoming Dreebalicious EP, which is out on 27 January on Yogocop Records. You can get your pre-orders in here.
