Very nice project here from producer, Dixon Hill, as he connects with Detroit legend, Guilty Simpson, for Actus Reus. Weighing in at seven tracks, it gives us a good glimpse at the levels the rising beat-maker is reaching with his production and Simpson’s pen game rolls in as gritty as ever. In fact the juxtaposition between the weight behind the lyrics and the sometime jazz-heavy production, works very well, in particular on the Lil Fame and Kool G Rap assisted, Bat’Leth.
