Words Hurt: Fuck That Pretty Boy Shit

You may remember me covering a couple of Words Hurt releases recently, well now they are back with a whole album: Fuck That Pretty Boy Shit. As the title indicates, the album is filled with enough bilious outpourings and misanthropic sentiments to make Charles Manson bop his head.
For those of you not familiar with Words Hurt, they are a duo comprising Def Jux and Atoms Family representative Alaska and producer Lang Vo, who also makes music as Reinforced Steel with MC Kwamizzle.
The Atoms Family may be no more, but Alaska shows no signs of losing his hunger on the mic and tracks like We Are Fucked and I Love People, show that in Lang Vo he has found a good creator for the musical backdrops necessary for his volatile wordplay.
There are a few features worth mentioning, including the aforementioned I Love People which features MMG rapper Red Pill, alongside vocalist Marilyn Carino. Marilyn also features on the excellently titled Chekhov’s Gun and the final track, Spaced.
Fuck That Pretty Boy Shit is rap borne out of a frustration with a culture both Alaska and Lang love, but which is increasingly tainted by the posing of some of the next generation of artists. It’s helped create some great music in the process though, so its not all bad. The release is available to download now over at Bandcamp.
