Pitch 92 is back with a bang, as he unveils his latest single. It’s the first new music we have heard from the High Focus producer since the arrival of his Question of Time album, which he released alongside Verb T last year. High Focus have been recently hinting that Pitch had been busy in the lab and now the fruits of his labour are being given life, starting off with Suttin’ In The Trunk, which features a tight guest appearance from Lord Apex. No word on an album yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t least get to hear more new bits from Pitch very soon.
Poignant bars from DRS, as he blesses us with a new video from his recent Coloured EP, which he made alongside French producer, Redeyes. The EP features seven tracks, all recorded in the seven days following the tragic death of George Floyd and the subsequent protests against police brutality. All proceeds from the EP are being donated to the Stephen Lawrence Trust. You can hear the rest of the EP below, then head to Bandcamp to give them a much needed sale. Great track from Rye Shabby, as he gets us in the mood for his new EP which is due for imminent release. On Hey Presto, the Ipswich MC has teamed up with friend and collaborator, Forrest Moon, resulting in this laid-back but fully focused number. It’s the first single from the Esta WP, which is set to drop on 14 August. Streams and downloads of Hey Presto are also available.
New music from Fliptrix, as he returns with the lead single from his forthcoming album. Powerizm is the first solo material we’ve heard from the High Focus founder since his 2018 album, INEXHALE, with the track standing as a testament to the great, POW, the legendary London graff writer who sadly passed away last year. Powerizm is produced by Yabu and the video was made by This & That Media. The track is available to stream now in all the usual places, and pre-orders for the 7″ vinyl edition are also available.
Strong debut here from the newly formed Deuce Deuce Records, as MysDiggi and Downstroke unite for Make The Cut. As you would expect from two artists as entrenched in the culture as they are, it’s a winning combo with the Downstroke’s production giving even more life to Mys’s already energised flows. The track is also available on download and 12″ vinyl edition.
Good to hear Confucius MC back at it, as he releases his latest single. WW is heavily inspired by the world of wrestling entertainment, which has seen a growing presence in rap, thanks to the likes of Westside Gunn and his seemingly endless referencing. The focus is on the fact that while things in the game might not appear to be real, the pain is definitely genuine. Production on the track comes from California-based producer, Wann Sklobi. WW is out now on YNR Productions.
Big tune here from Bristol-based producer, Sam Krats, as he rounds up some more notable names for his latest single. On 360, Krats has drafted in Boston legend, Edo.G, everyone’s favourite Dirty Rotten Scoundrel, Jeru the Damaja, and Artifacts OG, El Da Sensei, for a triumvirate of dope. The track is all tied up nicely with some cuts from Bristol turntable stalwart, DJ Rogue. The single is out now on Revorg Records, with instrumental and acapella versions available on the download.
The Four Owls unveil the next single from their recently released Nocturnal Instinct LP, with yet another heavyweight US name on the assist. On Pioneer, the High Focus quartet have enlisted the might of Kool G Rap, who delivers a typically blistering verse. The track is produced by Leaf Dog. Nocturnal Instinct is out now.
Wish Master delivers the latest video from his most recent album, The BULL, which features a typically complementary appearance from CW Jones. Don’t Waste Time is produced by Chima and the video was made by Monsta. The album is out now via Official Recordings.
