A very welcome return to the blog from Twizzy, with the release of his latest album. It’s been a few years since we heard a full-length solo project from the Bristol MC; his hiatus fuelled by a mixture of personal struggles and disillusionment with the rap scene, both of which I’m happy to hear have been curtailed, giving him some new creative zeal in the process. Crabs in a Bucket is testament to that, as we hear Twizzy sounding more enthused and focused than ever. The production on the album is handled in full by fellow Bristol artist, Chillman, and boasts features from Komposa, Genesis Elijah, G00SE, CAM, Jinxsta and Jolene, as well as cuts from DJ Rogue. You can check out the full album below, with downloads and physicals available on Bandcamp. And it’s Bandcamp Friday today, so what better excuse to support some independent artists.
A fresh drop from Twizzy, as he gets us in the mood for his forthcoming album with this Chillman produced cut. Truth also features a tight appearance from fellow Bristol MC, Komposa, who has been enjoying a nice run recently. The video was made by Oscar Barriball.
Fresh visuals from my neck of the woods, as Twizzy and Jinxsta release the latest video from last year’s excellent First Word Last EP. The track is produced by Chris Lucas, who is also the man behind the camera. The EP is available now via Bandcamp.
Another nice video from Twizzy, Jinxsta and Chris Lucas, as they continue to ride the wave from their recent EP release. Cracking On is taken from First Word Last, which is entirely produced by Chris. He’s also the man behind the video. The EP is available now via Bandcamp.
Today sees the full release of the new EP from Bristol MCs, Twizzy and Jinxsta JX and local producer, Chris Lucas. It’s a solid EP from three artists who have been immersed in the scene long enough now for anything other than the music itself to filter away, leaving six tracks of quality rap forged in the group’s collective passion for the culture. Twizzy and Jinxsta’s flows are well-matched by their differences too, which only adds to the project’s appeal. There is also a good selection of features, thanks to on-point contributions from Press1, Ambush Tactics and DJ Rogue. First Word Last is available to stream below, and there are plenty of physicals and bundles up for grabs too. Continue reading “Twizzy x Jinxsta JX x Chris Lucas: First Word Last (Stream)”→
Bristol in full effect here, as Twizzy and Jinxsta introduce us to their forthcoming EP with the lead single, Salute The Cap. No strangers to the scene, or each other, Twizzy and Jinxsta have collaborated in various incarnations over the years, but this marks a return to the fore for Twizzy, who seems to have found a new lease of life on the mic. Combine this with the fact that the production is being handled in full by Chris Lucas – another of Bristol’s musical assets – we have all the ingredients for a very good project. Pre-orders for the First Word Last EP are available now, with the release set for 27 April.
New music from Ambush Tactics, as he delivers his latest album. The Roughcut Collective affiliate has handled production throughout, with the exception of one Billy Whizz helmed track. While the production is kept relatively solo, there are a wealth of features on the album from the likes of Twizzy, G00SE, Jinxsta JX and Levi Collins. Dead End Avenue can be heard below and downloads are available over on Bandcamp. The album will be available on all streaming platforms as of 28 November.
Roughcut Collective – aka Ambush Tactics & Twizzy – have a new EP on the horizon and to get us in the mood, last week saw the arrival of the first video. Lions is the titular track from the EP and is produced by Afire. The EP is released on full on 7 December and pre-orders are available via Bandcamp.
Last Friday saw the arrival of the next video to be taken from Twizzy’s latest album, Old Dog No Tricks. Old Flow features production from Billy Whizz and some great visuals from Chris Lucas (Although this blog would never condone bicycle theft). The album is out now on AFT Raps.
A welcome return for Twizzy, as he releases his latest album, Old Dog No Tricks. It’s been a while since his last release, back in February last year, but pleased to say the Bristol MC is still as on point as ever. It’s a collaboration between Twizzy and his old friend and collaborator, Billy Whizz, with the pair having such a good chemistry that whatever they turn their collective minds to is always going to work. There are plenty of local features too, with G00SE, Sylla B, Ambush Tactics and Jinxsta JX all dropping in with nice verses. The album is available to stream below, with downloads and physicals available over on Bandcamp. Continue reading “Twizzy & Billy Whizz: Old Dog No Tricks (Stream)”→
