Ray Vendetta & Giallo Point: Laugh Loud Laugh Last
It was only the other day that I posted the new mixtape from Ray Vendetta, with a portent that he and Giallo Point had an album on the way. Now I am able to bring you the first track from the album, Laugh Loud Laugh Last.
If this is setting the standard, then Sins of the Son looks set to be another success for the two artists, who have accrued a lot of much deserved acclaim this year already. You can stream the track below, with pre-orders available over on Bandcamp. The release date is scheduled for 20 December. Continue reading “Ray Vendetta & Giallo Point: Laugh Loud Laugh Last”
Ray Vendetta: Verse Murder – The Dub Banquet
Ray Vendetta takes us back again to the golden age of mixtapes, by dropping an actual mixtape of him firing off lyrical rounds over a nice selection of instrumentals. There are beats from DOOM, Large Pro, Hi-Tek, Muggs and a whole load more. As usual with Vendetta, this is just the prelude to an official full length project which will be coming soon, this time with #TheWinners producer, Giallo Point. You can stream the mixtape below and you can grab a free download over on Bandcamp. Continue reading “Ray Vendetta: Verse Murder – The Dub Banquet”
The Insomniac Section (Don’t Sleep)
I’ve been struggling to write more than a couple of paragraphs for the past few months. Various reasons, too boring or personal to go into now, but it does mean I have failed to shine a light on some decent projects that have been given life in the interim. I wanted to do a bit of a catch up to make amends for my slack attitude and also to bring some thoroughly good music to your attention. Continue reading “The Insomniac Section (Don’t Sleep)”
Ray Vendetta: A Billion Bar Mindset
Good to see Ray Vendetta getting his new track premiered on the influential Mass Appeal site. A Billion Bar Mindset was posted up a couple of days ago, along with a nice little introduction to the Triple Darkness affiliate. RayOfLight & Mook: 5000 Kelvin
New project from Ray Vendetta – aka RayOfLight – as he teams up with Sons Phonetic producer, Mook, for 5000 Kelvin.
Written in seven hours, the project is a testament to Ray’s prolific output, following on from his Odd Couple intro EP with Tesla’s Ghost and various other releases over the past few years.
Mook brings a nice range of styles to the table, giving enough creative room for Ray to test his abilities. 5000 Kelvin is available to stream below and you can download it here.
The Odd Couple: Spinal Sword
Ray Vendetta and Tesla’s Ghost blessed us with a new video, the next to be taken from their debut Odd Couple project. Spinal Sword is produced by Falling Down, who is responsible for all the beats throughout the album. This Thing of Ours is available to download here.
The Odd Couple: This Thing of Ours
New dope from The Odd Couple – aka Ray Vendetta and Tesla’s Ghost – as they drop their long awaited collaborative project. This Thing of Ours is itself a prelude to a full length LP, which is scheduled for release in 2018. They’ve drafted in Wu affiliate Falling Down to handle the production on both releases and you can hear why right from the opening track. The project weighs in at 10 tracks with both MCs bringing their A-game to the mic. You can stream This Thing of Ours below and there are free downloads available on Bandcamp. In Memory of 7th Dan
It came as sad news to me and the hip hop world when the death of 7th Dan was announced recently. I had been lucky enough to meet him and speak with him over the years and it was always apparent to me how much of a good soul he was. He has also been responsible for making some fantastic music, as I’m sure you will all have experienced at some point. Continue reading “In Memory of 7th Dan”
Melanin 9 ft. Karl Sage: Polaroid
Great new video from arguably one of this country’s most accomplished lyricists. Melanin 9, the Triple Darkness affiliate and MC’s MC is back with a new album soon. It’s his first in a while, but to prove he’s as dope as ever, check the new single Polaroid. The track features Karl Sage on the hook and it was produced by Walterwarm & Cowode. I have an interview with M9 coming to the blog soon, so stay tuned for that.
