It’s been a while since I posted anything about BROOKZILL, the supergroup of sorts, but more accurately a collective – comprised of Prince Paul, Ladybug Mecca, Rodrigo Brandão and Don Newkirk. Now though they have released a new video for their 2016 track, Macumba 3000 and it’s a visual delight.
The quartet have gone with a stop-motion animation style video, which features all of them weaving through palms and ferns, as the contagious rhythm of Macumba pulses away. The name of the track is taken from a Portugese word used in Brazil, which means both a musical instrument and a form of witchcraft. BROOKZILL’s album, Throwback to the Future, is available now on Tommy Boy Entertainment.

South Cali MC, Trizz, is the latest to link up with Tommy Boy Entertainment, having knocked out a stream of quality tracks for some time now. Slow Down is the next in line and is produced by fellow Cali resident, AC3Beats. If you want to hear more from Trizz, you can find his previous release, LeatherFace 2, over on iTunes.

I am very proud to present the premiere for Sheek Louch’s latest visual dope for his track, What You Want The Money For. Taken from The Lox member’s last solo album, Silverback Gorilla 2, the joint sees him linking up with long-term collaborator Swizz Beatz. The album is out now on Tommy Boy Entertainment.

The videos from Sadat keep coming with this new one for Bass Player. It’s taken from his album Agua which is available to buy now.

Exciting developments stateside, as BROOKZILL! emerge from the musical ether of Brooklyn and Brazil. Comprised of Prince Paul, Ladybug Mecca, Rodrigo Brandão and Don Newkirk, the quartet are described as the sonic link between New York and Brazil, fusing hip hop’s future with its past. Big new track here from Sadat X, the next to be lifted from his new Agua album. Industry Outcasts features not only R.A. the Rugged Man, but also the distinct vocals of Thirstin Howl III. Agua is available now on Tommy Boy, through all the usual spots.

Sadat X continues to knock em out the park with this new video. Murder Soundtrack sees him linking with old and new blood, as he calls in Rahzel and A-F-R-O to assist. This is the next track to be lifted from his forthcoming album Agua, which is due out on Tommy Boy next week. Pre-orders available here.
