Fresh out today is the latest release from UK production duo, Ill Move Sporadic, as they return from their hiatus with a follow-up to their 2013 Drug Corpse album. This time round Ben81 and One Boss have enlisted the help of more UK rap talent, including Ash the Author, Gee Bag, Strange Neighbour, Tenchoo and a welcome return from their old friend and collaborator, Joey Menza. Production-wise, you might already know the M.O. – hard, gritty sample-driven beats with basslines the register on the Richter Scale. It’s a fantastic follow-up and also a solid album in its own right, from two producers who have established and consistently nailed a trademark sound. Drug Corpse II can be heard in full below and there are downloads on Bandcamp. Continue reading “Ill Move Sporadic: Drug Corpse II (Stream)”

Big Daddy Rap Beast: Peep My Jawns (Stream)
Solid release here from something of a veteran in the game – Big Daddy Rap Beast – as the UK MC returns to the fore with his new project, Peep My Jawns. The album is fuelled by that 90’s rap energy and even includes some familiar names from the era, as Big Daddy drafts in Tame One, Q-Unique and Copywrite for guest verses. He also calls on talent closer to home, as Gi3MO, Larry Diamond and Tenchoo all bring their respective clout to the mix. Production comes courtesy of Secret Other Family aka 184 and Tyni, so you already know it’s going to bang throughout. For further convincing though you can stream the album below and you can also get physicals over on Bandcamp. Continue reading “Big Daddy Rap Beast: Peep My Jawns (Stream)”
TenchoO: Game Face
Bars aplenty in the new video from TenchoO, as he gears up to hit us with his latest album. Live From the Crojo is out soon on One Shoe Records.
IMS & Tenchoo: Making Panic Room 9
Panic Room 9 was one of the strongest releases from last year, securing day time airplay on BBC 6 Music among other things. If you were a fan you might be interested in this mini-doc that just surfaced on the Starch Records YouTube channel, as it gives you a bit of insight into how the record was made. We will be hearing more from both IMS and Tenchoo this year, including a mixtape from the latter called When Planets Collide. More on those as and when.

Ill Move Sporadic & Tenchoo ft. Sleaford Mods: Who’s one the One?
The Ill Move Sporadic and Tenchoo EPĀ is out next week and after the reception Chess Pieces got when they leaked it, they thought they’d get the hype going even more with this gem. Featuring none other than Sleaford Mods’ Jason Williamson, as well the usual brand of ferocious wordplay from Tenchoo, this is one for the masses. Check it out and watch this space for my album review coming soon.
Ill Move Sporadic & Tenchoo: Chess Pieces
I’m on a hype about this one. This is the first single to be taken from the excellent new album from Ill Move Sporadic and Tenchoo. Chess Pieces is a prime cut of what to expect from the full release Panic Room 9, which graces all the usual spots next month. Vinyl pre-orders are available too.
