For almost as long as Black Thought has been rapping, his fans – and pretty much the entire hip hop world – have been clamoring for a solo project. Thought had begun working on a solo album a while back, but it was never given life and the idea of us ever getting to hear one from him became one of hip hop’s seemingly unattainable dreams. The Alchemist hit us with a new project on Friday, featuring a host of heavy-hitting MCs. Roc Marciano, Action Bronson, Styles P, Benny the Butcher, Westside Gunn and Conway all stepped into the booth, with the LA producer lining up four de rigueur drumless loop based beats for them to slay. Tomorrow marks the anniversary of Sean Price’s death and in continuation of his already pretty hefty legacy, Duck Down are releasing P’s fourth studio album, Imperius Rex. Below you can find a track that has been lifted from the album, The 3 Lyrical Ps, which features Lox favourite, Styles P and another much-loved fallen hero, Prodigy.
