Following on from last year’s Prolefeed collab, Big Toast and 184 have reunited for another joint venture which is due to surface in the autumn. F.W.L. is our first taster from the project and it includes a welcome feature from The Strange Neighbour. More news on the album, Who Shit in the Sandpit, as and when I have it.
Another unapologetic banger from the recent Ill Move Sporadic album, as they release a new video for Drug Slur. This time round they have drafted in long-term ally and collaborator, The Strange Neighbour, who gets to work over some suitably murky production from the duo. Their album, Drug Corpse 2, is out now on all the usual platforms.
Fresh out today is the latest release from UK production duo, Ill Move Sporadic, as they return from their hiatus with a follow-up to their 2013 Drug Corpse album. This time round Ben81 and One Boss have enlisted the help of more UK rap talent, including Ash the Author, Gee Bag, Strange Neighbour, Tenchoo and a welcome return from their old friend and collaborator, Joey Menza. Production-wise, you might already know the M.O. – hard, gritty sample-driven beats with basslines the register on the Richter Scale. It’s a fantastic follow-up and also a solid album in its own right, from two producers who have established and consistently nailed a trademark sound. Drug Corpse II can be heard in full below and there are downloads on Bandcamp. Continue reading “Ill Move Sporadic: Drug Corpse II (Stream)”
The Tuff Boyz are back with a new video as they continue to build the anticipation and intrigue for their forthcoming album. If you want to know what to expect from the video, imagine if Sam Peckinpah directed an episode of Phoenix Nights and you’ll be on the right track. It also features an array of cameos from the Cypher Lounge family, so keep your eyes peeled. Bat Night is produced by Oliver Sudden and Tizer. Pre-orders for the album are available now via Revorg Records.
To coincide with the release of the Breaking Bad film sequel, El Camino, Strange Neighbour is dropping a remix version of his 2014 Heisenberg EP. It looks set to be a strong selection judging by the first leak – a reworking of the Let’s Fly posse cut, from the legendary Chemo. The track features a great line-up, with Bristol sons Datkid and Sirplus, joining forces with Jack Diggs and Oliver Sudden, all backed up with some expert cuts from Sammy B-Side. The full project is due for release at the end of the month on Revorg Records.
Revorg Records back at it with another project on the horizon, as Strange Neighbour and Big Toast combine to form Tuff Boyz. As the name might suggest and if you’re familiar with their usual approach, this is not for people who take themselves too seriously, but don’t write it off as comedy rap as the skill levels are still high. Excellent production from Oliver Sudden as usual. Their album, Bat Night, is due for release soon.
A rough and ready, yet still banging beat tape from Strange Neighbour, as he samples the hell out of a Bollywood film score DVD he found in a charity shop. You can stream the tape in full below and you can grab a free download via Revorg Records. Continue reading “Strange Neighbour: Project India (Stream)”
Ill Move Sporadic have a new project en route, the follow up to their excellent 2013 Drug Corpse album. Having already treated us to the first single with Joey Menza a few weeks ago, now they’re back with the second leak, Drug Slur, which features Strange Neighbour. Other streaming options are available here. Drug Corpse 2 is out soon on Starch Records.
The end of last month saw the release of the new Three Headed Beast album, which is in my eyes their strongest release yet. It’s been a few years and a few projects since the trio first put out a record together and the work they have put in since then has definitely not gone unnnoticed by both listeners and critics. Continue reading “Three Headed Beast: Time to Feast”
The new album from Three Headed Beast is due out next week, so this week saw them drop this new track, Control. This will be the first LP from Jinxsta JX, Twizzy and M.A.B, following on from the success of their two EPs and it looks set to be another solid release. Continue reading “Three Headed Beast ft. Javeon: Control”
