More music from Baileys Brown and this time a reunion of sorts, as he joins forces with Datkid once again for a new EP. Grubby Mits follows in the footsteps of joints like Teeth Ledger and the pivotal, Home By 8, which was the release that first brought Datkid to the attention of many UK rap fans. On this new EP, the duo are joined by some familiar names, including Datty’s SP affiliate, Flying Monk, who drops in on Better Than The Rest, alongside fellow Bristol rap advocate, Draper. There is also a Blah link up courtesy of Stinkin Slumrok, on the closing track, Yeah Right. You can hear the EP in full for yourself below, with downloads available via Bandcamp.

CMPND: Hindenburg ft. HERBiCiDE, Dirty Dike, Fliptrix, NuphZed & Stinkin Slumrok + LP Stream
Major posse cut vibes from the CMPND camp, as they bless us with the latest video from their debut LP. Hindenburg sees the Brighton trio teaming up with some notable characters from the scene, as HERBiCiDE, Dike, Fliptrix, NuphZed and Stinkin Slumrok all jump on board another filthy beat from Wundrop.
Lee Scott x Jam Baxter: Who’s Ur M8 + LP Stream
Brand new video from Lee Scott and Jam Baxter, as they kick of the official release of their album, Happy Hour At The Super Fun Time Party Dome Megamix 4000. When Lee first sent me the LP a few months ago, he did so with the warning that it was weird. I like weird, was my reply. And while it might not be your run of the mill rap album, it definitely remains on the right side of weird, complete with drunk style crooning from Lee. It features production from loads of great names, including Sumgii, Drae Da Skimask, GhostTown, Dirty Dike and Jack Jetson, plus there are guest spots from the likes of Jetson, Stinkin Slumrok, Milkavelli, Trellion and Lyza Jane. The whole thing can be heard below and you can see the video for the Dike produced, Who’s Ur M8, above. It was made by Slim Parisoo. Vinyl copies of the album are available over at the Blah store. Sniff x Formz: 100 Vices (Stream)
New release from Sniff as he teams up with the always on point, Formz, for 100 Vices. The EP is billed as a seven step plan to unhappiness, with Sniff as our narrator – the perfect trigger for that Friday feeling. As well as Sniff, there are also contributions from Stinkin Slumrok and Bisk. 100 Vices can be heard in full below, with downloads available via Shadow Player Records. Keep an ear out for more music from Sniff and Formz coming later this year. Continue reading “Sniff x Formz: 100 Vices (Stream)”
Baileys Brown ft. Axel Holy, Datkid & Stinkin Slumrok: Reeboks
This is the latest offering from the forthcoming album from Bristol producer, Baileys Brown. For Reeboks, he has joined forces with Datkid and Stinkin Slumrok, as well as own rap alter ego, Axel Holy. The result is a glitchy, warped beast of a track which only raises the anticipation for the full release. The video was made by Conz. Still Fresh is due for release next month on Potent Funk.
Jam Baxter ft. Rag’n’Bone Man & OG Rootz: Mask (Video) + Album Stream
Today sees the release of the latest album from High Focus’s resident hallucinogenics advocate, Jam Baxter. Touching Scenes follows on from last year’s acclaimed Mansion 38 album, which saw Baxter reuniting with Chemo, having scored a previous success together back in 2014 with So We Ate Them Whole. For this album he has chosen to branch out into additional production territory, drafting in some strong names – Last Japan, Sumgii, Sam Zircon and GhostTown – giving the entire project a very different feel to his previous two offerings. It all works brilliantly though, with Baxter’s imagery as dark as ever. Continue reading “Jam Baxter ft. Rag’n’Bone Man & OG Rootz: Mask (Video) + Album Stream”
G.Rich ft. Stinkin Slumrok & Sniff: Poltergeist
G.Rich releases the next track from his recent Chapter Two project. Poltergeist sees the Bristol MC connecting with Blah residents, Stinkin Slumrok and Sniff. The production comes courtesy of the late, great, dubL$w£ggrz. Chapter Two is available to download now over on Bandcamp. Continue reading “G.Rich ft. Stinkin Slumrok & Sniff: Poltergeist”
Stinkin Slumrok & Sniff: Dumb
Blah boys, Stinkin Slumrok and Sniff get dumb on their new joint which has been unearthed from last year’s stash. The video plays out like a LSD fuelled trip to the woods, while FORMZ brings a stripped down beat with a BPM similar to a blue whale’s heartbeat. The result you can see for yourself above.
Cult of The Damned: Salt Water
Here is the next instalment from the eagerly awaited Cult of the Damned album. Salt Water is produced by Sam Zircon and features some typically deft bars from Bisk, Lee Scott, Salar, Stinkin Slumrok and Black Josh. The COTD album is scheduled for release this Friday and I can tell you now, it is most definitely worth your attention. Pre-orders are available here.
