B-Movie Millionaires: Attack Of The 50,000ft SWEG LAWDS from Outerspace

When they first arrived in our lives, the B-Movie Millionaires brought with them a rough and rugged jewel of an EP, that had been created in a kitchen in one night. Now they are back with a another project and they are older, arguably wiser, but guess what? The new album was still made in a kitchen in just one sitting. But don’t take that to mean that this any sort of slapdash, half arsed rap record, laa. This is Lee Scott and Black Josh at their most entertaining, backed up with some great production from Swamp Harbour’s resident producer, Sam Zircon aka Goosewater. Bisk: Gutter City

Bisk is back with a bang as he prepares to take us all on a trip to Gutter City. The Swamp Harbour general has been steadily releasing solid project after solid project, laying waste to the idea that quality and quantity are mutually exclusive. Continue reading “Bisk: Gutter City”

Earthworm Grim x Goosewater: Serotonin Plz Exclusive

I got a message from Lee Scott a few nights ago, asking if I would like an exclusive preview of his new tape only project. He told me it was weird, really weird. I said I was definitely down. He sent me the audio and I pressed play, not really grasping how weird he meant. Continue reading “Earthworm Grim x Goosewater: Serotonin Plz Exclusive”

Mongrels: Attack the Megalith

Last year’s Attack the Monolith album from Mongrels was a highlight among listeners and critics alike. Kid Acne and Benjamin brought their unique styles together to form an album that harked back to years gone by, while looking directly towards the future. Now we have Attack the Megalith, which is a remix project featuring some of the most exciting producers from UK hip hop and beyond. Hashfinger, Morriarchi, Third Person Lurkin, Sam Zircon, Charlie Dark, Midfield General, Juga-Naut and King Kashmere, all step up to the plate, with a fresh polish for eight of the album’s original gems. The EP is out today and you can buy your copy here.

FORMZ: Curious Alice

The start of April saw the release of one of the more intriguing projects of recent times. Curious Alice is an interpretation of the Lewis Carroll classic, told through the beats of some of the UK’s most innovative independent producers.

Swamp Harbour ft. Jack Danz: No Response

sh

For those of you not in the know, Swamp Harbour is yet another cult within a cult, comprised of three of Blah’s finest. Stinkin Slumrok, Bisk and Sam Zircon have been working together under the SH banner for a while now, but we haven’t had an official release as yet. It looks like that is going to change though as this track was released last week, along with the news that a Swamp Harbour album is on the way. No Response also features DOS member Jack Danz. Sleaze & SonnyJim: Paranoid City

para

I like to think I have my finger relatively on the pulse when it comes to UK rap, but a few releases somehow pass me by, like this new LP from SonnyJim & Sleaze. This is the follow up to their 2011 Work in Mnemonics EP. Sleaze is sadly residing at Her Majesty’s pleasure at the moment, but Sonny had made a promise that this project would see the light of day and he stuck to his word.
