Rag’n’Bone Man x AudioActive: Supporting Grassroots Talent

One of the best things about someone from an independent movement achieving commercial success, is that it allows them to shine a light on the scene that helped them get to where they are today (ego permitting). Take Rag’N’Bone Man for example. Ever since he smashed into the charts last year, he has consistently involved his friends and local musical peers in everything he’s done, from taking Rum Committee on tour with him, to playing a very active role as patron of Brighton-based youth charity, AudioActive. Captain Bukioe & KD: Feast or Famine

buk

Great new project from Rum Committee, as Captain Bukioe and KD release their Feast or Famine EP. KD’s beats are as on point as ever, serving as the perfect backing for Bukioe to tear through and complimented by some nice guitar work from Eric Turner and Henry Clark. Bukioe is also Rum Com’s resident artist and is the man responsible for the dope cover art. You can stream the EP below and it is also available for free download from the Rum Com Bandcamp. I was lucky enough to to chat with him recently about his early influences, staying grounded and his recurring themes of death and mortality, among other things. The interview took place at the Cypher Lounge at the Windmill in Brixton. Continue reading “Rag’n’Bone Man: Interview”
