PENGSHUi: Little Brother

The mighty PENGSHUi returned to the fore last night, with the release of their latest single. Little Brother is proof positive that the trio are still as raw as ever, while also reminding us that they are among the most inventive and energised performers in the country. One of my favourite albums of all time is the one-off collaborative project that The Black Keys embarked on, back in 2009, when they enlisted the ample talents and connections of Dame Dash for Blakroc. Together they crafted a bluesy hip hop and rock infused album that featured some incredible contributions from the likes of Mos Def, Jim Jones, Q-Tip, Nicole Wray and Billy Danze. You can always rely on Now Again for an intriguing release and their latest compilation is exactly that. During the 70s, Zambia was surrounded by war and while it managed to remain conflict free itself, the country fell into poverty and isolation.
