Friday saw the release of the new album from Blu and Oh No, the lengthily titled A Long Red Hot Los Angeles Summer Night. Now Blu has been a favourite MC of mine for almost as long as Oh No has been a favourite producer, so this album was always going to be a winner for me. This is the first track to be lifted from the upcoming Gangster Music Vol. 1 compilation, which is curated by the ever-dope, Gangster Doodles. It’s a family affair as Oh No and Madlib unite for Big Whips. The Pink Panther themed video was made by Gangster Doodles and David James. Pre-orders for the project are available now.

I love it when projects get released without any real prior warning. Take the third instalment of the exquisite Lice series, which Aesop Rock and Homeboy Sandman have been treating us to for the last couple of years.
