Sticking with the Mello Music camp, as L’Orange and Namir Blade return with another slice of visual excellence from their album. Nihilism is a perfect taste of the album’s allure, with L’Orange’s production bleeding into new areas as it blends with Namir’s inimitable vocal style. The monochrome video was directed by Joel Davis. Imaginary Everything is out now.
Another album that we should be looking forward to is the latest from L’Orange, as he joins forces with Namir Blade for Imaginary Everything. Yesterday saw the release of the video for the title track, which incorporates a nice blend of animation and blues guitar, the former being the handiwork of SPELLWRKS. The album is due for release on 7 May via Mello Music, and keep an eye out for my new interview with L’Orange coming soon to Grown Up Rap.
A welcome return by L’Orange to the blog, as he announces his latest venture, alongside fellow Mello Music artist, Namir Blade. We last heard Namir on his 2020 release, Aphelion’s Traveling Circus, which shone bright during another exceptional year for the label. Now he’s returing to the fore with L’Orange, a producer who has yet to put a foot wrong in my eyes and ears, with this latest album shaping up to continue that trend. The first video, for Corner Store Scandal, was released this week, which you can see for yourself above and pre-orders for the album, Imaginary Everything, are available now.
The Holy Mountain is the latest gem to be plucked from Namir Blade’s recent Mello Music debut, Aphelion’s Traveling Circus. According to Namir, the track was inspired by the movie of the same name, in particular by a dialogue between the Alchemist and the film’s protagonist. The video was made by Joel Davis. Aphelion’s Traveling Circus is out now.
To celebrate and coincide with the release of his new album last week, Namir Blade blessed us with a new video for Space Ghost. Self-produced, the track is just one of the highlights on another superb album from the Mello Music camp. If you haven’t checked the full release yet, you can listen below, with downloads/streams also available on the usual platforms. Continue reading “Namir Blade: Space Ghost + LP Stream”
Soulful sounds on this latest from Namir Blade, as he continues to build the anticipation for his Mello Music debut. Stay is the second single from the album and paints a very personal picture, as Namir reflects on traumas past and present, while holding on tightly to the strands of hope that still remain. You can hear Stay for yourself below and pre-orders for the album are available via Bandcamp. Continue reading “Namir Blade: Stay”
This track is my first taste of Mello Music’s latest signing, Namir Blade, and what an introduction it is. Hailing from Nashville, the MC and producer has spent years dabbling in genres ranging from hip hop to house, while very much cultivating his own sound in the process. Now he is set to release a new album on MMG, with The Head serving as the lead single. Beat changes galore and a flow that switched up so well I had to check it wasn’t a guest feature. The album, Aphelion’s Traveling Circus, is due for release on 18 September. You can stream The Head below. Continue reading “Namir Blade: The Head + LP News”
