The new Fly Anakin album is almost upon us, but the Richmond rapper still had time to bless with another track in the run-up to the release. Suppression is once again produced by fellow Mutant Academy representative, Foisey, who is at the helm for the album’s entirety. Skinemaxxx is out in full on 5 April.

Mixtape Frank (Fly Anakin): stop tryna hack my facebook (Stream)

A little gift from Fly Anakin to celebrate the first anniversary of his debut solo album, Frank. Adopting the pseudonym, Mixtape Frank, the Mutant Academy rapper has released this mini mixtape. It serves as a thank you for the support his fans showed towards Frank, an amuse bouche before the release of his album, Skinemaxxx, next month, and as a homage to the mixtapes he grew up with (complete with ‘borrowed’ beats). Apparently there are more to come too. For now though, make the most of the apparently appropriately named, stop tryna hack my facebook, which you can listen to below. Downloads are up on Bandcamp.

Fly Anakin and Foisey are back at it, with another track that blends the best of both their crafts. It’s lifted from the album, Skinemaxxx, which is due for release on 5 April.
Fly Anakin: Blicky Bop
Fresh sounds from Fly Anakin, as he paves the way for the arrival of his new album. Blicky Bop is a welcome return for the Mutant Academy MC, following the highs of last year’s Frank LP. The track features some soulful production from Foisey and sets the mood nicely as we await the release of Skinemaxxx.
Sleep Sinatra x Ohbliv: Shadow Self (Stream)

New material from Sleep Sinatra on rotation, as he connects with Mutant Academy representative, Ohbliv, for their long-awaited Shadow Self LP. Predominantly a solo vocal affair, where Sinatra continues to outline himself as one of the more dedicated rappers of the era, there are also some notable guests.
These include the recently featured Archibald Slim, who is celebrating his own album release this week, as well as Aakeem Eshu, Obijuan, Flannel Lewis, and Bruiser Brigade favourite, J.U.S. Check out the stream of Shadow Self below and then head over to Bandcamp to grab a download or physical copy, and peruse the rest of Sinatra’s back catalogue while you’re there if you’re not familiar. Essential sounds.
Fly Anakin: No Dough
Fresh heat from Fly Anakin, as he treats us to a new video for one of the Madlib-produced joints he has in the stash. Hopefully this means we’ll get to hear what else they cooked up together over the coming months.
Fly Anakin: Pixote (Stream)
More new material from Fly Anakin, who is quite rightly still riding the wave from his collaborative successes with Pink Siifu. Pixote is his latest EP and it’s a Mutant Academy affair, with the entire project produced by Anakin, plus features from Big Kahuna OG and Henny L.O., as well as a nice appearance from the ever-prolific, BbyMutha. Pixote is available to stream below and downloads are available via Bandcamp.
Big Kahuna OG & Monday Night: Dead Already
New visual gold from the Thug Tear project which Big Kahuna OG and Monday Night released at the start of the year. The track is produced by fellow Mutant Academy resident, Graymatter, and the video was made by Unlucky Bastards. Thug Tear is out now.
Fly Anakin x Big Kahuna OG: Another Big Fly 420 (Stream)
Let’s keep the spirit of today alive with yet another 420 related release, this time from the Mutant Academy camp. Fly Anakin and Big Kahuna OG return with their umpteenth release in recent times, Another Big Fly 420, which features five brand new tracks from the Richmond team. Production comes from some familiar names, with sadhugold, Foisey, Yotaro, Graymatter and Anakin himself, all throwing themselves into the mix. There is also a nice guest spot from Grt Sctt!!, who jumps on Store Run. You can hear the EP in full below and downloads are available on Bandcamp. Evidence: Unlearning
A fresh track from Evidence, as he puts his social distancing to good use by writing, recording and releasing this song over the course of a couple of days. It’s an LA to VA connection, as Evidence drafts in Mutant Academy’s Graymatter to handle production, with the video capturing parts of the creative process. The track is also available to stream now via Rhymesayers.
