Almost two years on from their initial collaboration, I am very pleased to see the arrival of the full-length project from Mungo’s Hi Fi and Eva Lazarus. Back in August 2017, the Glasgow sound system ambassadors joined forces with the Bristol-based vocalist for Amsterdam. The track proved to be a hit with both critics and fans, and sparked a creative partnership that has now spawned an album that surpasses the levels set by that initial union. Eva Lazarus reunites with Glaswegian sound system veterans, Mungo’s Hi Fi, as they breathe new life into Max Romeo’s classic, Three Blind Mice. The track tells the all too familiar tale of the police shutting down a party and is the perfect vehicle for Eva’s ability to switch up her flows. Babylon Raid is the first cut to be taken from the forthcoming album, More Fyah, which is due for release next month. The video was shot on location in Kampala.

The collaboration between Eva Lazarus and Mungo’s Hi Fi has given three great tracks, including this little number about the freedom that can be discovered after a break-up. Eva and and the donny ABOVEGROUND headed to Amsterdam to give the video extra credence and the result is this visual treat. The Amsterdam EP is available now from iTunes.
