Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire ft. Goldie Glo: My Life
Smooth sounds from eXquire, as he dusts off one of the gems from his latest release, Secret Legend Vol. 1, which features a bunch of unreleased tracks from 2011-2012. my Life also features a tight verse from Goldie Glo. The project is the first of four volumes, and you can grab a download now via Bandcamp.
Mr Muthafuckin’ eXquire: Black Mirror (Prod. by Madlib)
Timely music here from Mr MFN eXquire, as he tackles the topics of black masculinity and community, over some unsurprisingly tight production from Madlib. The track is dedicated to eXquire’s uncle, Shango, who passed away last month. Streams and downloads of Black Mirror are also available.
Mr Muthafuckin’ eXquire ft. Wiki: A Definite Maybe + Album Stream
It will come as no surprise that the new album from Mr Muthafuckin’ eXquire is another triumph. The self-titled LP saw its full release today and features a very focused eXquire delivering some of his best raps to date. To coincide with the release, the New York artist has also dropped a new video for one of my personal highlights from the album. A Definite Maybe features another of my NY favourites, Wiki, as well as some tough production from CONSTROBUZ. You can stream the album below and downloads are available from the usual platforms. Five Favourites from El-P
Last year I did a round-up of some of my favourite insults from jewel runner and indie rap pioneer, El-P. Not content with ending it there, I have now tackled the larger and perhaps more rewarding task of selecting my favourite guest verses that he’s blessed us with over the last two decades or so. Before I started actually writing this, I had a pretty good idea in my head of how this Top 5 would end up looking, but it’s not until you start researching this sort of thing that you realise just how many tracks El-P has guested on across his career. So here we go with MY five favourite guest verses from the man himself (capitals on the ‘MY’, don’t @ me!).
Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire: 40’z At The Met Gala
Mr Muthafuckin’ eXquire finishes off a strong year with a new video, for one of the highlights of his recent Brainiac EP. 40’z At The Met Gala is produced by Tame One favourite, Parallel Thought. The EP is available to buy/stream now from all the usual platforms.
Mr Muthafuckin’ eXquire: Strawberry Waterfalls
eXquire gets his croon on in the psychedelic new video for Strawberry Waterfalls. This is the next track to be lifted from his excellent Brainiac EP, which is available to buy now via Daylight Curfew, along with all his merch. The track is produced by Gusto Gold Productions.
Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire ft. Meyhem Lauren: Bebop & Rocksteady
Great video from the equally great new Brainiac EP from Mr Muthafuckin’ eXquire. Bebop & Rocksteady – a nod back to the old TMNT days – features fellow NY MC, Meyhem Lauren.
Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire: Brainiac EP
The new EP from Brooklyn’s finest, Mr MFN eXquire is out now and I’ve gotta say, it’s one of my favourite releases from him in a while. Brainiac features production from Tame One favourite, Parallel Thought, as well as The Alchemist, Canya Reial, CONSTROBUZ and Bowery Beats. There is also a guest spot from Meyhem Lauren, but it’s eXquire who makes the EP such a success. Hear it for yourself below, or alternatively it’s available to buy over on iTunes.
