Mork Calling Orson finds the UK rap linchpin on typically fine form, with his pen remaining as sharp as ever and his production choices setting the album’s mood without fault. Contributions from Sam Zircon, Beat Butcha, Sonnyjim, Mr Brown, Keor Meteor, Taharka and Jehst himself, provide a varied but unified sound, while Lee Scott, CW Jones, Sindysman, Eva Lazarus and Confucius MC, all prove to be the perfect co-stars. Brand new music from Ash The Author, as he returns to the Village Live camp for a fresh release from their 7″ series. You can hear one of the tracks below, which features production from DJ Drinks and some cuts from Mr Brown, while the second track features the always on-point, George Fields, on the boards. Oblique Strategies ft. Confucius MC: Cognoscenti

Another visual instalment from the Oblique Strategies album, as Cappo and Mr Brown deliver their latest video. This time the penmanship levels are increased thanks to a solid feature from Confucius MC who brings his talents to the suitably titled, Cognoscenti. The video was made by Zygote and the album, Raw Pastiche, is out now on We Stay True.

Oblique Strategies: Numbers Up

Numbers Up is the latest jewel to be released from last year’s Oblique Strategies collaboration from Cappo and Mr Brown. Featuring some typically sublime lyricism from Cappo and some weighty boom bap production from Mr Brown, it’s a definite high point on an already strong album. Raw Pastiche is out now on We Stay True.

Oblique Strategies (Mr Brown & Cappo): Bar Cardio

New sounds from We Stay True, as Mr Brown joins forces with Cappo to form Oblique Strategies. They have a whole album en route, one that promises to further solidify Cappo’s reign as the UK’s supreme lyricist, with the first single given life last week. You can hear Bar Cardio above and pre-orders for the vinyl edition are available now. The release date is set for 23 November.

Confucius MC ft. Jehst: The Art-Form Pt. 2

Brand new video from last year’s The Artform EP, the joint project from Confucius MC and Mr Brown. The Art-Form Pt. 2 also features Confucius’s long-term collaborator and tour partner, Jehst. Downloads are available now via We Stay True and there are still copies of the EP available on vinyl.
