It’s Friday, the sun is shining, Trump is getting the British welcome he deserves and we can finally indulge ourselves in the debut album from Children of Zeus. It has been a very long time coming and any regular visitors to my blog will know the work that the Manchester duo have put in over the years to get to this point. Weighing in at 13 tracks, Travel Light is everything I was anticipating. The MCR family vibe is as strong as ever, with guest spots from LayFullStop, [KSR], Metrodome and DRS, plus further production credits from Juga-Naut, Sebb Bash and Beat Butcha. Their trademark hip hop-soul sound is the most prevalent on the album, but there are elements of reggae and jazz at work too, making Travel Light a highly ambitious album, but one that works incredibly well. You can stream it in full below, with downloads and physicals available via Bandcamp. Continue reading “Children Of Zeus: Travel Light (Stream)”

Jagged Tooth Crook is out now on all the usual platforms.

The Mouse Outfit are gearing up to release their new album at the start of next month, so yesterday saw the arrival of a new video to keep us in the mood. Repeat features regular faces, Dubbul O, Sparkz and Ellis Meade on top of some joint production from Chini and Metrodome. Jagged Tooth Crook is scheduled for release on 4 May.
I love Levelz. Everything the Manchester collective does seems to be founded on the basis that they have a shit load of fun in the process and this latest joint is no exception. Front Face was filmed during the madness of Outlook Festival and features bars from Skittles, T-Man, Truthos Mufasa, Chunky, Chimpo and Black Josh, with Biome and Metrodome on production. The track is also available as a free download, which you can grab via Bandcamp. The video was made by Tarnish Vision.
