It’s a family affair on the latest from Black Milk, as he releases a video for Relate (Want 2 Know) which also features his younger brother, MAHD. The track is lifted from the Detroit artist’s recent DiVE release, which is out now on Mass Appeal Records.

Having been a fan of the Detroit artist since I first heard Long Story Short roughly 10 years ago, it’s been fascinating hearing how his sound and approach to production has evolved during that decade.

Black Milk: Laugh Now Cry Later (Video) + Album Stream

Black Milk recently released his new album, Fever, which boasts a number of politically charged and socially aware tracks, including Laugh Now Cry Later. The track deals with the impact of social media on our lives, including how much some people change based on their online persona. The video, directed by Gerard Victor, shows social media users in sometimes grotesque trance-like states, accompanied by excerpts from online chats. Mass Appeal: Rapture

Netflix has done well over the past few years with their selection of hip hop documentaries, with films like Time is Illmatic and The Art of Organized Noize giving us some great insights into particular eras of rap. Now the mighty Mass Appeal have announced their own docu-series, which promises to explore the global impact of hip hop culture.
