A very welcome return to the blog from Lunar C, as he kicks of a new week with a brand new track. On Very Important, the Bradford MC outlines just how important he is compared to the rest of us mere mortals, over some stunning production from Jehst and Pitch 92. For a man who is already renowned for his highly skilled wordplay, Lunar seems to be getting even better which means his new album should push him ever higher into the UK rap stratosphere. The video was made by Killmoney and keep an eye out for a couple of cheeky cameos.
I recently had a chat with Muckaniks, a music producer from Ipswich in England. He has a propensity for dark, bass heavy production which has earned him credits on projects with the likes of Ocean Wisdom, Lunar C and Dizzee Rascal. We spoke about his production methods, his roots and how he came to work with those notable artists.
After obliterating stages up and down the country on his Dirtbrain tour, Lunar C returns to Fire In The Booth to deliver his third instalment of bars, laced with his winning blend of bravado, punchlines and wordplay. The production is provided by HashFinger and Mash.
All Ralph everything in the latest release from Lunar C, as he reunites with HashFinger for Polo Balaclava. The video was made by Dan Hyde.
Great documentary from Lunar C, as we delve deep into his recent Dirtbrain Tour. It’s a good insight into Lunar’s perspective on his career and also into how the tour was put together through a lot of hard graft from him and his friends, as well as some further insight into the levels of debauchery that were reached in each city. Packed full of guest stars, including Minas, DJ Heritage, P Solja and Lefty, as well as a bunch of cameos in each city (including yours truly), the documentary is a fine round-up of a highly successful tour. The footage was shot and edited by Rob Heslop & Emily Parish. Dirtbrain is available to stream now on Spotify.
Lunar C just released the final video from his acclaimed Dirtbrain album and it’s another visual triumph for the Bradford MC. Hindsight follows in the footsteps of many great music videos over the years, by going down the claymation route. And very effective it is too. The video itself was made by KillMoney with Designasaur in charge of the animation. The track is produced by HashFinger. Dirtbrain is available now from all the usual platforms.
Last week Lunar C announced on Twitter that he had done a track with a Wu member and therefore could retire happy. Speculation was rife with which member he’d managed to jump on a track with, until yesterday when we were finally given the answer. Dark Horses is a collaboration between producer Kill Miami and Wu Tang favourite, Raekwon, with the added vocal support of Lunar and KRS-One. You can listen to the track above, plus there are more streaming and download options available here.
More fresh visual material from Lunar C, as he treats us to a new video for Longway. The track is produced by his regular partner in crime, HashFinger and the video was made by Rob Heslop, Dom O’Connor and Emily Parish, using footage from the recent Dirt Brain tour. Stay tuned for a full tour documentary coming soon too.
Lunar C channels the spirit of Dirt McGirt in this exceedingly Northern homage to the Wu-Tang MC’s classic, Shimmy Shimmy Ya. The video was made by Kill Money.
New DIY video from Lunar C, as he knocks up some homemade visuals for Rise. The track is produced by HashFinger and is lifted from last year’s triumphant Dirtbrain album.
