Lee Scott x Jam Baxter: Who’s Ur M8 + LP Stream

Brand new video from Lee Scott and Jam Baxter, as they kick of the official release of their album, Happy Hour At The Super Fun Time Party Dome Megamix 4000. When Lee first sent me the LP a few months ago, he did so with the warning that it was weird. I like weird, was my reply. And while it might not be your run of the mill rap album, it definitely remains on the right side of weird, complete with drunk style crooning from Lee. It features production from loads of great names, including Sumgii, Drae Da Skimask, GhostTown, Dirty Dike and Jack Jetson, plus there are guest spots from the likes of Jetson, Stinkin Slumrok, Milkavelli, Trellion and Lyza Jane. The whole thing can be heard below and you can see the video for the Dike produced, Who’s Ur M8, above. It was made by Slim Parisoo. Vinyl copies of the album are available over at the Blah store. Baileys Brown ft. Lee Scott & Dabbla: Something Else Entirely (Not Human) + Album Stream

Very happy to finally be able to bring you the new Baileys Brown solo LP in all its genre-defying glory. If you’re already familiar with Baileys Brown’s work, you will know he is a producer who is not afraid to venture outside the normal constraints of a genre and draw on musical influences from other areas, to create unique soundscapes which are among some of the most ambitious in the UK right now. When he found a home at Potent Funk it seemed like the ideal setting for his exploits, thanks to their already established love of ‘hybrid rap shit’ and with that in mind, Still Fresh serves as the perfect label debut. Lee Scott: I Can’t Figure Out How I Figured It All Out (Stream)

New music from the rap game gift that keeps on giving, as Lee Scott surprises us with a new 10 track instrumental project. I Can’t Figure Out How I Figured It All Out is a collection of beats that Lee has put together over the last few weeks, in part because of a sore throat and in part because he is one of those artists who can’t ever stop making music. You can stream the project below and downloads are available via Lee’s Bandcamp. Continue reading “Lee Scott: I Can’t Figure Out How I Figured It All Out (Stream)”

Lyza Jane: Housebound (Stream)

Next up we’ve got the debut album from Lyza Jane, which follows on from a string of singles and an EP with Sniff, which was one of last year’s highlights. I find it hard to pinpoint exactly what genres Lyza’s music fits into, as there are a lot of different influences at work, but hip hop definitely plays a big part in her inspiration. Housebound features appearances from Lee Scott, Black Josh and Danny Lover, with beats from Lee, Sniff and Lyza, who handles the majority of the production herself. You can hear the album in full below, with physicals and merch available via Bandcamp. Stay tuned for an interview with Lyza coming soon. Continue reading “Lyza Jane: Housebound (Stream)”

The single is the first single from Lyza’s upcoming Housebound album, which features a host of Blah talent including Black Josh and Danny Lover. Pre-orders are available now.
