LayFullstop continues to build the hype for her forthcoming mixtape, with this latest video which came out today. Postcards is produced by Mr Hone and is taken from STiR, which is due for release in the not too distant future. Stay tune for more news on that when I have it.
Always happy to welcome new music from LayFullStop into my life and this latest dose of melodic brilliance is exactly why. Heavier on the singing side than some of her previous tracks, Receipts features some beautifully woozy production from (Superbeats) and it’s lifted from Lay’s forthcoming mixtape, STiR. More news on that soon.
Superb sounds from Manchester collective Roots Raddix, as they bless us with their latest video. Flora features contributions from Zz, The Slept On, LayFullStop, & Woddy Green, with the whole thing reminiscent of those early conscious rap days. The track is produced by Mr Hone and it’s available to stream/download now from all the usual spots.
Fresh out today is the debut album from Manchester crew, Voodoo Black. I say crew, but the supergroup argument could also be valid, as they are made up of four already well established artists from the city. Consisting of MCs Sparkz, Ellis Meade and Dubbul O, as well as Cutterz on production, Voodoo Black have been making music together for years now, but this is their first full-length and it stands as the debut they deserve. Jazz is the dominant influence on the album and from the riffs of the titular opening track, to the punchy Jehst-assisted, Abracadamting, it’s the perfect backdrop for the lyrical styles on display, from four MCs who all possess a competency that puts them up there with the best the UK has to offer. As well as Jehst, there are some other choice features, including fellow Manny artist, LayFullStop, RLD favourite, Leaf Dog and street soul revivalist, EVABEE. You can hear the album for yourself below and there is also a new video for the title track, courtesy of Ellis Meade. Sitting At The Table is out now on Village Live. Beautiful sounds from Mali Hayes, on her new single, Oceans. Having recently made a fantastic appearance on the final Foreign Beggars album, the singer-songwriter now turns her focus back towards her city, with a track alongside fellow Manchester artist and blog favourite, LayFullStop. The song was produced by RKW.
More fresh soulful vibes from one of MCR’s finest, as LayFullStop returns with her latest single, PMT. The track is produced by RKW and is lifted from Lay’s new Cherries EP. You can hear the EP now over on Spotify.
LayFullStop delivers her latest video for the previously released gem, Cherries. The track features production from fellow MCR resident, Pitch 92. Hoping we get to hear more from them in the future.
Another successful venture for LayFullStop as she returns with her brand new single. Cherries sees her joining forces with fellow Manchester artist, Pitch 92, as the pair deliver a dreamy little number which will be the ideal compliment to the summer sun, when it finally reappears. Cherries is also available to stream on Spotify.
As you may have noticed if you follow me on socials, the forthcoming album from Pitch 92 has a ridiculously strong list of guest features. Not only that but the various combinations of MCs and vocalists that he’s chosen for each track are all pretty special.
The first single had MysDiggi, Verb T and Kashmere united on the same beat and for the latest video, we’ve got another killer combo. Kingdom sees UK vet, Jehst, teamed up with two Manchester favourites – Sparkz and LayFullStop. The whole thing is tied up with a nifty video from Jay Bannister.
Third Culture is set for release on 28 February on High Focus.
Honoured to be able to bring you the world premiere of the latest video from Children of Zeus. Still riding high on the wave of the release of their triumphant debut album, Travel Light, the Manchester duo now return with some new visuals for one of the album’s many high points, Fear of a Flat Planet. The track also features the distinctive talent of fellow Manny family member, LayFullStop, along with another striking video from Tarnish Vision. Travel Light is out now on First Word Records.
