Following on from their previous collaboration, Juga-Naut and his dad – aka Stickman – return with the next instalment of their Cellar Sessions series. The original version of this verse can be found on the Bozo Boyz album by VVV.
Kicking off the week on a family tip, with some new material from Juga-Naut. For those who might be unaware, Jugz’s pops is a very accomplished drummer and the two of them have been known to put together some excellent collaborations in the past, which is exactly what we’ve got here. Going by the fact this is Cellar Sessions 1, I’m hoping we’re going to get a lot more clips like this. Keep your eyes peeled.
Pleased to see the arrival of Juga-Naut’s latest solo album, Bon Vivant. It rounds off another strong year for the Nottingham artist, following on from a string of solid collaborations, including his Purple Door project with SonnyJim, as well as his own Found Objects release back in February. Bon Vivant sees Jugz summoning the collective strength of a number of UK luminaries to assist with the project, including Joe Buhdha, Micall Parknsun and his fellow VVV brothers, Cappo and Vandal Savage. You can stream the album below and there are physicals/merch available via Bandcamp. Continue reading “Juga-Naut: Bon Vivant (Stream)”
We’re only two days away from the release of Juga-Naut’s latest album and to get us in the mood, he has blessed us with a single serving of dope from the project. Silk Portraits is a self-produced affair, with features from two fellow Nottingham mic killers, Vandal Savage and Scorzayzee. The full album, Bon Vivant, is up for pre-order now over on Bandcamp, with the release set for Friday. Continue reading “Juga-Naut ft. Scorzayzee & Vandal Savage: Silk Portraits”
Nice new collaboration between French producer, Redeyes and Nottingham favourite, Juga-Naut. Digital Diamonds is one of the tracks to be found on Redeyes’s latest project, Broken Soul, which also boasts features from the likes of Tyler Daley, KinKai and DRS. You can find streams and downloads at all the usual spots.
Pleased to see the arrival of the first video from the recently released collaboration between Juga-Naut and SonnyJim. Neutral Leathers also features fellow VVV MC and Notts resident, Vandal Savage. The video was made by Allergic Films. The Purple Door is out now on EatGood Records.
Having got our hunger pangs raging with a couple of leaked tracks, last Friday saw the release of the full album from Scran Cartel aka MNSR Frites and Benny Diction. As well as their own ample skills, the two MCs have also drafted in a wealth of talent to assist with the album, including features from Oliver Sudden, Tony Skank and Juga-Naut, as well as production credits from the likes of Krang, Chemo and Morriarchi. The album is available to stream in full below and downloads are available on Bandcamp. Continue reading “Scran Cartel: Blue Plaque Candidates (Stream)”
Pleased to see the arrival of the new album from Nottingham favourite, Juga-Naut. The Purple Door is produced in its entirety by SonnyJim, which in itself is a testament to Jugz’s popularity amongst fans and peers alike, as Sonny has been pretty vocal in the past about how few UK Mcs he holds in high regard. The album weighs in at 12 tracks and there are features from fellow VVV members, Vandal Savage and Cappo. You can stream the album below and physicals are available via EatGood Records. It’s Friday, the sun is shining, Trump is getting the British welcome he deserves and we can finally indulge ourselves in the debut album from Children of Zeus. It has been a very long time coming and any regular visitors to my blog will know the work that the Manchester duo have put in over the years to get to this point. Weighing in at 13 tracks, Travel Light is everything I was anticipating. The MCR family vibe is as strong as ever, with guest spots from LayFullStop, [KSR], Metrodome and DRS, plus further production credits from Juga-Naut, Sebb Bash and Beat Butcha. Their trademark hip hop-soul sound is the most prevalent on the album, but there are elements of reggae and jazz at work too, making Travel Light a highly ambitious album, but one that works incredibly well. You can stream it in full below, with downloads and physicals available via Bandcamp. Continue reading “Children Of Zeus: Travel Light (Stream)”
It’s been a long time coming, but we are now into the final few weeks before the arrival of the debut album from Children of Zeus. “Highly anticipated” doesn’t even cut it. Yesterday saw the unveiling of the artwork, the tracklist and the chance to pre-order what is undoubtedly going to be one of the most popular releases of the year.
It’s also a release that is going to be the much deserved payoff for the many years that both Konny and Tyler have dedicated to their respective fields, so much so that their fans are as happy as their own kinfolk to see the duo getting so much shine.
Travel Light promises to deliver more of the street soul flavour that has proved so popular since Children of Zeus first formed, as well as some reggae and jazz cuts thrown into the mix. There are features too from LayFullStop, [KSR], DRS and Terri Walker, plus production from Sebb Bash, Juga-Naut and Beat Butcha. The album is available to pre-order now on all formats and you can stream a couple of the tracks below. The official release date is set for 13 July on First Word Records.
