Last week saw the release of the next video from the upcoming Jam Baxter album, following on from the arrival of lead single, Saliva. Vulture is produced by Last Japan and the video was made by Spin City Visuals. The album, Touching Scenes, is due for release on 16 November on High Focus. There will also be a tour underway soon in support of the album release and tickets are available here.

Hyped to see the announcement of a new album from Jam Baxter. It’s a step away from the MO of his last two offerings, which were produced in full by Chemo, as the first leak demonstrates. Joining forces with fellow Dead Player, GhostTown, the pair deliver a solid lead single with a great video that was shot on location in Spain. Touching Scenes is due for release on 16 November, boasting features from the likes of Kate Tempest, OG Rootz fka Durrty Goodz and Rag’N’Bone Man. The video was made by Spin City Visuals.

It’s been a long time coming, but yesterday we were finally treated to the full release of the new album from UK favourite, Dabbla. Any regular visitors to my blog will know that I have been championing the album since its coming was announced some months ago. And with good reason because the whole project is a treat for the ears, packed with a standard of lyricism and production high enough to bring the devil himself to tears.
There are plenty of stellar features too from the likes of Rag’N’Bone Man, Eva Lazarus, Illaman, LDZ and Jam Baxter, but the main star is Dabbla who seems to be at his hungriest yet on Death Moves; quite a feat for an MC who has been giving his all to every release since his debut with LDZ.
You can stream the full album below and there is also a brand new video for the title track, produced by Dirty Dike, Pete Cannon and GhostTown. The video itself was made by Obese Aesthetics – the dons behind the hugely successful Psychoville video, from Dabbla’s previous album. You can grab digital/physical copies of the album over at the Potent Funk store. Read the rest of this entry »

A personal favourite from the forthcoming Dabbla album, as the Potent Funk MC unleashes his latest video. Long Gone features fellow Dead Player, Jam Baxter and a filthy beat from long-term collaborator, Sumgii. Just wait for that drop. The video was made by Spin City Visuals. Death Moves is due out on 5 October.

Absolutely blinding return to the fore from Dirty Dike, as he drops his latest single, Permanent Midnight. Featuring some killer production from Chemo and an infectious hook from his old Contact Play sparring partner, Jam Baxter, the semi-autobiographical track focuses on the problematic journey of a young boy through his teenage years and beyond. The single is being released on a limited edition vinyl run, complete with a B-side featuring Lee Scott with production from Pete Cannon. More details available over at the High Focus store.

In case, like me, you spent last month half asleep, you may have missed this new mixtape from Ramson Badbonez. Featuring a whole bunch of talented cats, alongside the ample skills of Badbonez himself, the project is compiled of tracks, remixes and features that the London MC has been involved with over the years. Jam Baxter, Twizzy, Rewd Adams and Micall Parknsun are just some of the voices that crop up throughout the mix, which clocks in at over an hour long and is available now for free. You can also stream it below. Read the rest of this entry »

Another sugary high from the recent Laminated Cakes album, as Ed Scissor, Jam Baxter and GhostTown deliver a fresh video for Cake Gang. The track also features the ample talents of Chester P and Dirty Dike. The video was shot by This & That Media. Laminated Cakes is available to buy now over at the High Focus store.

Kaleidoscopic visions in the new video from Jam Baxter & Ed Scissor, which was released yesterday. Excellent Donut is the first segment of a newly unearthed project that the duo have been working on, alongside producer Ghosttown, for the last five years. The full release, Laminated Cakes, features guest verses from Dike and Chester P, as well as the excellent Pipe Smoke, which first came to light back in 2012. The album is available to buy now on all formats via the High Focus store.

Jam Baxter recently released a new video for one of the two Lee Scott featured tracks on his Mansion 38 album. Titanic 2 is produced by Chemo and the album is available to buy now over at the High Focus store.

I got a message from Lee Scott a few nights ago, asking if I would like an exclusive preview of his new tape only project. He told me it was weird, really weird. I said I was definitely down. He sent me the audio and I pressed play, not really grasping how weird he meant. Read the rest of this entry »
