A hell of a collaboration here, with the arrival of the new EP from Axel Holy (aka Baileys Brown) and Jack Danz. The two artists move in similar circles musically, both in terms of sound and company, so this is a no-brainer on paper and in reality it hits even harder. Contributions from Badhabitz and Mr Fix only add to the EP’s strengths. You can check out a preview of God Comflex below, with streams and downloads available from the usual spots.Continue reading “Axel Holy & Jack Danz: God Comflex”
Moody brilliance here, as Morriarchi celebrates the release of his latest project with a brand new video. River Path sees the Group BraCil producer teaming up with Jack Danz, who you realise is the perfect fit for the track as soon as his vocals crackle into life. The track is lifted from Geography of Peace, which is out now on both digital and cassette.
Another superb track from the new Axel Holy album, which saw its full release on Friday. Baileys Brown’s alter ego is transported into an animated world in the video for Let It Go, thanks to the ample talents of Monsta Art. The track is produced by Jack Danz, I’ve got a proper post about the album en route, but for now enjoy this video and check the full album, Wonderworld, on all good streaming platforms.
Tight verse here from Jack Danz as he drops some exclusive bars for Lokations Media. No prizes for guessing the instrumental; in fact, you’ll be penalised if you don’t get it.
Good to see the return of Jack Danz and the announcement that he has a new album coming very soon. To kick things off he has dropped Washpoppin, a self-produced track which sounds like the ideal Danz to me. TMIB is due for release on 10 May on Blah Records. The video for Washpoppin was made by Rob Searle.
A new track has emerged from one of my favourite producers, as Jack Danz hits the lab once again to bring us Yakk Down, ably assisted by Skintman and Sniff. You can stream it in full below. Continue reading “Jack Danz ft. Skintman & Sniff: YakK Down”
Nice little selection of instrumentals from Jack Danz and the second instalment of his Dying Lotus beat tape series. Vaguely menacing with an abundance of “where the fuck did he find that?” samples, this tape only further certifies Danz as one of my favourite beatmakers in the UK. You can stream the tape below and downloads are available via Bandcamp, along with the first chapter which dropped back in April. Continue reading “Jack Danz: Dying Lotus (Stream)”
Defenders Of Style are about to his us with a new EP and if the title track is anything to go by, it looks like it’s going to be another strong release from the Leeds quartet. Nosedive is produced by Adam Koots. The EP is available for pre-order now via Pang Productions, with a release date set for 14 December.
Last week saw the release of the latest album from Black Josh. Yung Sweg Lawd is arguably his strongest work to date, with the Manchester MC exploring a wide range of production styles, while managing to sound at home on all of them. The production is handled by a host of talent, including fellow LEVELZ members Biome and Metrodome, as well as the likes of Jack Danz, Reklews, dylantheinfamous, Sly Moon and Pitch 92. There are also a bunch of strong features, including Milkavelli, Truthos Mufasa, Lee Scott, ELIZA and Sniff. The album is available to stream below and you can also watch the latest video from the project for the Skepta produced banger, Ciggaweed. Downloads are available via Blah.
