Verbal Highz representative G00SE recently hooked up with Verb T’s burgeoning label, In The Balance Records and proceeded to release his debut solo project. Living Poets Society provides a perfect snapshot of why the Bristol-based MC has become one to watch, with his brand of frenetic yet calculated wordplay taking centre stage. The album (EP? Another solid single from Bristol-based producer Sam Krats, following on from last month’s excellent Annihilate, which featured Gee Bag and El Da Sensie. The inimitable Rye Shabby returned to the fore at the end of last week with a new album, Die Shabby. There will be more on that to follow, but for now immerse yourself in the latest video from the project. Turquoise is a poignant track with some mildly hallucinatory visuals to set the scene, as Shabby delivers spoken word style verses over a nice beat from label-head, Verb T. The additional vocals come courtesy of Cassie Campbell Cartwright and the video was made by Parallel Media. Die Shabby is out now on all the usual platforms on In The Balance Records.

In The Balance Records are quickly building up a solid roster of artists, as their latest release further proves. Bristol-based producer, Sam Krats, enlists heavyweight rhymers from both sides of the Atlantic for his new joint, with EOW champ Gee Bag uniting with Artifacts veteran, El Da Sensei on Annihilate. No word on what’s next for Krats, but hopefully we will get a full project from him at some point. The track is available on free download over on Bandcamp.
