An open break up letter of sorts, as Illingsworth says a much needed goodbye to 2019 – the sort of year he never wishes to see repeated. The Detroit MC/producer explains that the beat was inspired by his daughter’s love for Wajatta, and that he created it by using his voice as an instrument. It makes for an interesting style and one I would be keen to hear more experimentation with. You can listen to i don’t wanna see u again below, with downloads available via Bandcamp. Strong start to Illingsworth arrival on the Mello Music Group label, as he releases his new album, You’re No Fun. Primarily an instrumental album, peppered with a few vocal tracks, it acts as a fine showcase of Illingsworth’s dexterity behind the boards. There are a couple of features from fellow label mates Denmark Vessey and Open Mike Eagle, who appears on the previously released single, Peeves. The album is available to stream below and you can cop a download over on Bandcamp. Continue reading “Illingsworth: You’re No Fun (Stream)”

Behold the latest video to emerge from Milo’s excellent 2017 LP, Who Told You to Think??!!?!?!?! Plenty of mental imagery and philosophical sparks in the track, which Milo describes as a song he wrote about pivoting on fools.
The track was produced by Illingsworth and the video was made in full by Ben Clarkson. Milo is on tour in the UK this month, alongside Open Mike Eagle. I would advise catching the show if they pass through your city. Who Told You to Think ??!!?!?!?! is out now on Ruby Yacht.
