Bristol MC, Hozay, recently released his Paisley Memoirs album, which is the culmination of the focus he has been applying to his beatmaking skills over the past few years. And that focus has paid off, as Hozay delivers a solid 19 tracks, that run the gamut from the reflective to the fesity and encompass all the attributes that Hozay has always brought to his art. Bristol MC, Hozay, has been steadily building up his production skills for the past few years, with the aim to perfect his next solo LP. He has been a part of the scene for years, with a ton of collaborations and releases under his belt, but his forthcoming LP, Paisley Memoirs, looks set to be his best work yet. Yesterday saw the release of the first video from the LP, Speaking My Mind, which hopefully sets the bar for the whole album. The video was made by Sektion Red. More news on the album soon.
The long awaited, much anticipated second solo album from Datkid was finally released today. Once again he’s drafted in Baileys Brown to handle the production, following in the confident footsteps of his first solo album, Home By 8.
Pleased to report that the follow up surpasses it’s predecessor, with the same amount of rugged wordplay that made Datkid a firm favourite on the UK circuit. There is an additional level of maturity too as the now London-based MC reflects on his life up to this point. Continue reading “Datkid X Baileys Brown: Teeth Ledger”
Sheffield MC, Vard, is back with a new video for Smoke & Drink. The track is lifted from the Real EP, his recent collaboration with the mighty Wish. Smoke & Drink is produced by Hozay. You can download the EP now over on Bandcamp.
Big track from the forthcoming Ded Tebiase album. The Bristol-based producer has drafted in some local talent for Sharon Stone, with both Hozay and Axel Holy (AKA Baileys Brown) each dropping a hefty verse. I listened to the album last night and can confirm it is sounding tight as fuck throughout. Landspeed is up for pre-order from Village Live on Monday. The video was shot by Chris Lucas.
Got two posse cuts to share with you that appeared on the radar last night. The first is the latest cut from Skrabl and frequent collaborator Oozhe called The Scrum. Featuring Hozay, Jibbarish, One Oz, Dr VooDoo, Trademark Blud, Verses Bang, Ash the Author, Plain David, Twiggz and Cletus, no surprises this is a bar laden frenzy. It’s available now over at Bandcamp.
This was a solid release from back in June that might have passed you by at the time. Hailing from Andover, Broken Poetz are two MCs called D.Know and Mystero, who have been putting music out together for the past few years. Continue reading “Broken Poetz: Soul Searching”
There are a lot of producer projects that have got me hyped recently and the new album from Baileys Brown is no exception. The Bristol beatsmith has been one to watch for the last few years and has steadily carved out a name for himself, thanks to projects with the likes of Datkid, Twizzy and his own MC alter ego, DGreen.
