New music here from Wish Master as he releases his latest album, The Bull. Following on from the Ral Duke produced intro which emerged the other week, production is varied throughout thanks to contributions from a few unfamiliar names (to me anyway), including Van Dam, Chimera and Niya, as well as the always on point, Hozay. Only two guests involved, with CW Jones lending his vocals to Don’t Waste Time and fellow OR artist, Jordan Nathaniel, dropping in on a few tracks. You can hear the whole project below, with downloads available via Bandcamp. Continue reading “Wish Master: The Bull (Stream)”
Baileys Brown keeps us hooked with another new video from his recent Still Fresh LP. Swim sees the Bristol producer teaming up with fellow SW rap aficionados and regular collaborators, Datkid, Jinxsta JX and Hozay, all rounded off with a slick video from Don Wavey. The album is out now on Potent Funk.
Vard makes his return to the blog with a brand new video, this time for the title track from his recent Dreams LP. The track is produced by Hozay, with a feature from CW Jones and a video from Chris Lucas. The Dreams LP is available now via Bandcamp.
Very happy to finally be able to bring you the new Baileys Brown solo LP in all its genre-defying glory. If you’re already familiar with Baileys Brown’s work, you will know he is a producer who is not afraid to venture outside the normal constraints of a genre and draw on musical influences from other areas, to create unique soundscapes which are among some of the most ambitious in the UK right now. When he found a home at Potent Funk it seemed like the ideal setting for his exploits, thanks to their already established love of ‘hybrid rap shit’ and with that in mind, Still Fresh serves as the perfect label debut. Vard has a new album on the way, following on from the successes of his previous releases, including ATOD and World War 3, which he released alongside Wish Master and Baileys Brown. Open Eye is the first taster of the new project and sees the Sheffield MC joining forces with Hozay, who handles production on the track. The video was made by Sektion Red. Dreams is due for release on 7 June, with pre-orders available now.
Greece and the UK unite on this new track from Bristol MC, Wish and his Greek connect, Sadomas. The duo lace a nice laid-back beat from fellow Bristol resident, Hozay and it’s all tied up neatly with a another smooth video from the Sektion Red team. The track is lifted from Wish’s recent Wishmaster EP, which you can find over on Bandcamp.
Exmouth son, Slard, has a new project looming and Be Somebody is one of the tracks to be lifted from it. The South-West MC seems to be striving for new levels, so looking forward to what the rest of the album holds in store. Production comes from Hozay, with Sektion Red on video duties.
Hozay brings us the latest video from his recent Paisley Memoirs album. Once again it’s Hozay on the beat and Sektion Red behind the camera. The album is available to buy now.
Soothing sounds in the new video from Vard and Wish. Rearrange features some great vocal work from Jordan Nathaniel, as the trio let loose on a suitably relaxed beat from Hozay. The track is lifted from last year’s Real EP and the video was made by Mario Mangata. Watch out for Vard & Wish’s collab with Baileys Brown, WW3, coming soon.
Bristol MC, Hozay, recently released his Paisley Memoirs album, which is the culmination of the focus he has been applying to his beatmaking skills over the past few years. And that focus has paid off, as Hozay delivers a solid 19 tracks, that run the gamut from the reflective to the fesity and encompass all the attributes that Hozay has always brought to his art.
