Here’s a little taster from the Alfredo album that surfaced on Friday, courtesy of Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist. The whole thing is available to stream online now.

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib w/ El Michels Affair: Gat Damn (The Diamond Mine Sessions)
While I do feel a bit dirty posting an Amazon Music exclusive, the strength of the performance outweighs any real moral objections I might have. Freddie Gibbs and Madlib recently hooked up with the aforementioned spawn of the devil to give an exclusive live rendition of Gat Damn, which is taken from last year’s acclaimed Bandana. MadGibbs are also joined by El Michels Affair, which is a genius move as you will hear from the end result.
Freddie Gibbs: Fake Names (Colors Performance)
Gangster Gibbs recently passed through the Colors studio, to record a blinding rendition of his Fake Names track, which can be found on the recent Madlib-produced Bandana album. Gibbs’ UK tour kicks off on 22 October in Brighton. Tickets for all dates can be found here.
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib: Half Manne Half Cocaine
Yesterday saw the release of the latest visuals from Freddie Gibbs and Madlib’s recent reunion album. The video for Half Manna Half Cocaine features guest appearances from Eric Andre, Quasimoto and Silverio Diaz. Bandana is out now.
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib ft. Anderson .Paak: Giannis (Video)
Check out the brand new video from Freddie Gibbs and Madlib which just surfaced. It’s for the Giannis track that appears on their recent Bandana album, with a typically tight feature from Anderson Paak. Bandana is available now on all the usual platforms.
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib ft. Anderson .Paak: Giannis
Check out the latest teaser from the long-awaited return album from Freddie Gibbs and Madlib. On this occasion Kane and Otis have drafted in Anderson Paak on the assist, bumping Giannis up to my favourite track from the album so far. Bandana is released in full on 28 June.
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib: Crime Pays
As we draw nearer to the official return of the formidable duo, MadGibbs have decided to give us another taste of what Bandana has to offer. Crime Pays features our famed contemporary gangsta rapper as a zebra farmer (any why not?) and a lusciously smooth beat from Madlib. Bandana is due for release on 28 June.
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib ft. Assassin: Bandana
Hopes grow for the imminent arrival of the latest collaboration between Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, after the appearance of the title track on YouTube yesterday. The production is a lot punchier on this joint compared to Flat Tummy Tea, with Freddie delivering some of my favourite bars from him in a while. The track also features Assassin – aka Agent Sasco, the dancehall star – who provides some fitting background vocals. No news on a release date for the album yet, but these two tracks make it look like the end is nigh.
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib: Flat Tummy Tea
With the follow up to Pinata looming ever larger, today Freddie Gibbs and Madlib gave us a taste of what is likely to become one of the biggest releases of the year. Flat Tummy Tea sounds exactly as it should, following on in the very popular footsteps of its 2014 predecessor. No release date for Bandana yet, but expect to hear more from MadGibbs soon. You can stream Flat Tummy Tea below. Continue reading “Freddie Gibbs & Madlib: Flat Tummy Tea”
DJ Muggs: Dia Del Asesinato (Stream)
Was happy to see the release of the new album from DJ Muggs, following on from his recent successes with DOOM and Meyhem Lauren. Even more pleased to be able to report that the project is another triumph. Muggs has always been a much-respected producer, with artists like Madlib citing him as a huge influence on their sound. And with good reason, as Dia Del Asesinato demonstrates. The list of features is testament to the esteem Muggs is held in by the scene as well, with MCs like Raekwon, Mach-Hommy, Hus Kingpin and DOOM all bringing their A-game to the project. The album is available to stream below and you can also buy it via Soul Assassins.
