Funkonami: Star View + LP Snippets

Funkonami is back with the third and final chapter of his Deep Into trilogy. Deep Into Space takes the series into new areas (and galaxies), while maintaining the same levels set with his earlier works. Star View is the lead single from the album, which is due for release on 13 November via Village Live. Vinyl pre-orders went live on Friday, so head to the store to get yours. You can also hear some snippets from the rest of the album below, skilfully mixed as always by Evil Ed. The album is dedicated to the memory of Joey Deez. Ded Tebiase & Ash The Author: APEX (Stream)

It’s great to be able to share the full album from Ded Tebiase and Ash The Author with you, having had it in heavy rotation for the past couple of weeks since it found its way into my inbox. If you’re familiar with Tebiase’s 2017 Landspeed LP, then you will no doubt also be familiar with the strength of his creative partnership with Ash, thanks to their initial collab, Yeah. Ded Tebiase & Ash The Author ft. Evil Ed: Mr Murphy

Mr Murphy is the second single taken from the upcoming album from Ded Tebiase and Ash The Author. Mr Murphy follows on from Transmit, which I premiered on my blog recently and features some typically good assistance from UK turntable vet, Evil Ed. The album, Apex, goes on pre-order tonight at 7pm (UK time) via Village Live.

Ric Branson: The Technician (Stream)

Another solid release from Ric Branson (fka Ricochet), as he delivers his new album, The Technician. Building on the foundations he laid back in the early 00’s alongside Ultra and A.H.Fly, the UK veteran displays all the signs of a still hungry MC across these 16 tracks.
He’s in good company too, as he’s joined on the album by Melanin 9, Ray Vendetta, Cons and Tesla’s Ghost, plus some tight production contributions from A.H.Fly, Evil Ed, Cons, Juice and Giallo Point. Also keep an ear out for the follow up to Ric’s classic cut from back in the day, Mad Runningz. The Technician is available to stream below and you can find downloads over on Bandcamp. Remulak: One (Promo Mix)

Remulak recently announced the release of his latest album and in typical Village Live fashion, there is a nice little promo mix from Evil Ed to tide us over until the drop. The album is a collection of tracks from Remulak’s archives, which he made between 2005-2018. Pre-orders went up last night over at the Village Live store, with the release scheduled for 13 August. Benaddict, Slim & Ella Mae: Teal

More gold on the way from the Village, as Benaddict, Ella Mae and Slim unite their ample talents for Teal. The pre-orders went live last night and considering how popular all Village Live’s other releases have been, you would be wise to make your move soon.
Benaddict and Ella already worked together on The Garden of England, so I can vouch for their chemistry on a track. Along with the addition of Slim’s relaxed yet intricate production, Teal looks set to be another must have. There is a little preview mix from Evil Ed, which you can stream below and then head over to the Village Live store to get your orders in. The official release date is 28 August. Remulak: Earth LP Preview Mix

Tasty little mini-mix from Evil Ed, acting as a preview for the new Remulak LP, which is released later today on Village Live Records. More instrumental focus than his last offerings, only two features made the cut this time – Brooklyn MC, Justo and Australian vocalist, Melody Myla. Earth is being released on three formats, with 100 limited edition splattered vinyl among them. For more info on the release and for all pre-orders, head over the Village Live store.
