Zack de la Rocha: Digging For Windows

I don’t think anyone could quite believe their eyes and ears when a new Zack De La Rocha song breached our lives yesterday. Not only is it the first solo material from Zack that has actually made it to reality, but he’s also roped in El-P to produce the track. A solo LP is scheduled to see the light of day in 2017, so watch out for that.

DJ Shadow ft. Run The Jewels: Nobody Speak

The audio for this track has been doing the rounds for a while now, but earlier today Mass Appeal revealed the new video and it’s a cracker. Featuring old white dudes lip-syncing, a mass brawl and even a piglet, plus appearances from the trio themselves, this is the perfect visual accompaniment for an already excellent track. DJ Shadow’s latest album, The Mountain Will Fall, is out now.

DJ Shadow ft. Run the Jewels: Nobody Speak

One of the more formidable collaborations to happen this year is the Run the Jewels feature on the forthcoming DJ Shadow album. I can’t think of any time in the past that these two worlds have met – except maybe the Latyrx and El-P joint – but as soon as you hear them together, you wonder why its taken so long. Run The Jewels ft. Gangsta Boo: Love Again

Run The Jewels seem to be unstoppable right now, after shutting down their Coachella sets with cameos from Nas, Gary Clark and Bernie Sanders (via video), they then released a new video for Love Again. Their sexually charged collaboration with Gangsta Boo is one of my favourites from RTJ2 and even more so now they have made this video jammed full of suggestive imagery, involving a butterfly, a flower and a lot of nectar.

Run The Jewels: 360° Boiler Room Live Set

This is a bit special. The Boiler Room gang have released 360° footage of the immensely dope Run The Jewels set from the end of last year. Its an insane visual experience and a good way of getting a feel for what their shows are like, if you’ve never had the chance to catch them live (e.g. me). Word on the street/social networks is that RTJ3 is complete and will be landing in our ear holes very soon. Watch this space for more news as and when.

DJ Qbert ft. Mr Lif & El-P: OG BBOY

The ever impressive DJ Qbert recently released a new project, Extraterrestria/GalaXXXian, which features many examples of musical dope, including this OG BBOY joint. Produced by El-P and featuring Mr Lif, the track is a welcome assault on the eardrums, with Qbert’s intricate scratch work bringing it to a worthy finish. The project(s) is available to buy now, from iTunes.
